Is it possible to sharpen my compass saw with it?

It should be possible for you to do so. A compass saw has more teeth than a finishing or mitre saw, but not by much, so it shouldn't be too small for this sharpening file; I had no trouble using it on a 12 tooth saw. I wouldn't try it with a coping or hack saw blade, though. It would be far too large, and such blades aren't designed to be sharpened in the first place. They're supposed to be swapped out. The tooth should be sharpened up to a quarter or third of the width of the file. I hope you find this information useful.

Will a 14 tpi saw be able to handle this? According to another website, the bahco double extra slim 5" is the best option for 11-year-olds. 14 tpi. Is this the same file as before?

This file worked well for me on a 14-tpi saw. Although it is not the same file or profile as the Bahco double extra slim 5", it worked well for me at 14 tpi.

Is it possible to sharpen a crosscut saw with this?

Sharpening a 6 to 10 TPI saw requires a 5" extras slim three-corner file. This file will work as long as your saw's teeth are in that range. Rip saws are usually equipped with four blades. They have a density of 10 teeth per inch, making them coarse.

Is it possible to use this to sharpen a 20tpi high carbon steel saw blade and a high-speed carbide saw blade? Should I get a double extra slim if that isn't the case?

Carbide saw blade teeth are not compatible with it. On a steel 20 tpi saw, I'd go with the double extra slim.

Bahco files are extremely long-lasting, outlasting other brands by a factor of five. 10 times. I purchased this file to use with all of my saws that have a tpi of greater than 10, especially my 14tpi tenon saw. I changed the saw's teeth shape for a progressive rake and switched it from crosscut to rip cut. I double-checked the file after I was finished, and you couldn't tell I had just finished filing. Bahco files are, without a doubt, the best. This is the only brand of files that I will purchase. I strongly suggest it.
