Questions & Answers

Some 16 ga stainless steel staples protruding through my roof need to be cut. Is this tool appropriate for working with that particular material?

It can cut hard wire up to 2 inches thick, according to Knipex. 8mm (I'm not sure if stainless is included). 16ga fasteners come in two sizes: 1. So, if you're 59mm, you should be fine.

Is it possible to use it to tie rebar?

Knipex 99, not 68, is the most widely used.

What are the cutting edges made of and how long do they last?

The cutting edge that is the longest is one inch long. 24- inches.

What makes these cutters different from the Knipex 67 01 200?

The fulcrum of work is a long way away.

The nipper is of high quality
4/5

The construction quality is good, but some instructions on how to cut nails would have been helpful. I purchased these with the intention of trimming some exposed 16d common nail ends in a shed. As it turns out, the practical limit for these is probably 8d. To work into the middle of the nail, 12d requires a lot of force, while 16d requires a number of chomps at various angles. It would be beneficial to have a sharper jaw angle. The jaws appear to be shaped in such a way that they will not be damaged when cutting small, very hard wire; most people who work with very hard wire will use dedicated hard wire cutters. Fence wire and heavy hardware cloth both work well with these.

Knipex is a fantastic piece of software
5/5

This is my second Knipex purchase, and I have to say, they are the best in the industry. These tools do not lose their sharpness after a few uses. I learned about Knipex after doing some research, and I'm gradually replacing all of my pliers with Knipex in the future; I strongly recommend purchasing a pair and trying them out for yourself. They are well worth the money because they will outlast any other brand you own.

I've been using these knipex nippers to tie rebar for over 15 years, and they're normally a durable and reliable product, but this is the first time they've failed me! I must have gotten a faulty pair! The blade edges do not line up, making it difficult to cut tie wire! Knipex are also known for coming loose and broken in right out of the package, and both pairs of nippers were stiff as hell

It was necessary to use WD- To gain entry, you must be 40 years old.

It does exactly what it's supposed to do
5/5

These were purchased for the purpose of cutting copper and brass rivets. It fulfills its purpose admirably. Copper can be cut all at once (watch out for flying tips!). (As expected, cutting brass requires a few rotations. ) I kind of wish I had paid more for the extended handles (more leverage) just to save myself some effort, but these work just fine.

Cutting green garden plant tie wire to use as nose wire for a homemade mask bent the cutting edge! I'm very dissatisfied because the edge has bent and there is a gap on one side
3/5

I just used it to cut green garden tie wire into a nose wire for the senior's mask. I went through the process about 40 times. There were no other cuts made. I'm not sure if it's because the product is of poor quality or because mine is faulty!!.

Early in the process, one of the cutter jaws snapped
3/5

When it was new, it worked well, but the cutting edge fractured soon after purchase. br>Perhaps it's because of me. I was attempting to use them for a non-commercial purpose when I came across them. Rather than looking for a more appropriate tool, I decided to use it for its original purpose.

The most powerful nippers on the planet
5/5

They'll hold up against stainless steel, but don't try to grind them into flush cutters; if done incorrectly, they'll lose their edge.
