I have had some Knipex handtools that still work just as well as they did when they were new for forty years. I'm sure it looks expensive because of the type of blade used. My intent was to use them for little electronic projects. Since I work as a mechanic, I've used every kind of cutter you can think of the benefit of this one is that it cuts extremely well and doesn't dull or chip the blade easily. When I first got this tool, I wasn't really pleased with the pretty weak spring that retracts the handle when you cut, but since then I've noticed that it helps when trying to make an intricate cut while holding other things, so it is made with some thought. It hasn't been that long, but I've used it a lot and if any other brand had been used that much it would have started getting dull and chipped by now. However, the Knipex looks and works like new, even after so much use. Therefore, I suggest that you spend the money and get this product. You.

At this price, you would expect the Knipex cutters to be much better, and they are. As soon as you pick them up and squeeze them, you can tell they are of better quality. This lead catcher is absolutely perfect, the jaws align perfectly with no flex, the action is buttery smooth, and the grip is perfect. I almost purchased the stranded pair but decided to try the lead catcher first. Excellent tips! Since I have always used affordable flush cutters, I didn't consider the more expensive ones as much better considering the fact that such a simple tool was so simple. I was wrong, as it turns out. The latest snips from Hakko are much better than the $10* snips I have collected from time to time. While these are double the price of the Hakko esd flush cutters that I already own, they are much better in comparison. It has a smoother, lighter, more springy get more involved. Also, they have held up very well against whatever I have thrown at them, whether it be wires or leads. A cheaper pair takes almost no time at all to develop bends/nicks, and they start losing that clean cut very quickly. The quality of these snips will more than offset the cost in the long term by outlasting the cheaper snips and making them much more enjoyable to use.

I will begin by saying that this review is for 79 42 125, not 78 71 125. What a great pair of knips This is a 5 star product. It is ergonomic, strong, sharp, precisely made. Due to Amazon continually sending me 79 42 125 instead of 78 71 125 ESD, I have taken out two stars. My fingers wouldn't fit into the knips with the lead catcher, so apparently Amazon doesn't sell I've given up on getting the proper ones from them and so I just use the 79 42 125 which are good but I need to deal with the leads flying everywhere when I clip them. Having been warned, you are on your guard.

My favorite flush cutter is the Knipex. I've tried a number of different flush cutters and always end up preferring them. It is possible that other brands will cut almost as well initially, but they will dull faster and do not appear to be as durable. In addition, there is another pin to prevent them from opening past a specified They are some of the smoothest cutters I have ever used, as well as being very comfortable to hold and use.

These cutters rock! I love them so much. It's easy to handle, strong, has a nice feel in the hand, and it lets you catch the wire bit easily! Wire is a primary material in my jewelry making and I love this feature, especially if I'm working on a small project in the living room and don't have my hand ready to catch the offcut, my husband likes not to get.
