Due to the fact that I have not used it on 8 gauge, I am not familiar with it. The tool is excellent, so I have no doubt that it can perform the tasks it is meant to do.

In the 11054GLW, I found all the wire sizes I required to conduct branch circuits and house wiring. Although I also have the Irwin self-adjusting wire stripper with its mechanical assistance, I tend to use that one whenever it is convenient to do so and if I need to avoid carrying a bulky tool around. Despite its many advantages, the Irwin has one major disadvantage A thin plastic jacket covered with conductors like the THHN/THWN in the photo cannot be properly stripped by this machine- A house's wiring is made up of those exact conductors. It is at this point that the Klein 11054GLW (as well as my other Klein strippers 1019 and 11053) play a role. Despite their very sharp blades, Klein strippers are capable of effectively slicing all types of insulation insulated conductors inside their rated size. Their sharp designs will quickly and efficiently remove jackets and insulation from conductors. My next step is to score the Irwin after scoring it with the Klein before using it on such conductors. Especially since it is aided by the spring, the pivot moves smoothly and is easy to manipulate. It is the handles of all my Klein strippers that I adore. No more than 3. 5 mm thick, no more than 3. 5 mm thin. This cushion is just the right thickness and feels comfortable when held. In particular, the 11054 has an amazing glow when lit at night! The fact that I will not use it to shear bolts or screws is not relevant as I have other tools to do that, so I cannot comment on whether it will do the job. The Klein 11054 will, like any stripper of this design, cut their rated conductors with little effort. Now it is up to the operator to get the insulator off the solid metal wire (or strands) and this requires effort and practice to accomplish. Although the tool will perform well, there are still some shortcomings.
I like these things because they are bright. Light is still able to shine through them even in dim lighting. As well as being reliable, these wire strippers work well. The wire can be cut through easily, and it is easy to strip them. It is easy to use because of the curved handle! In summary, the product is good, the craftsmanship is excellent, but that really should not be a surprise from Klein. Only downside here is that glow in the dark handles sound cool, but in the real world the handle will get dirty and will get crap all over it, along with scratches and nics. If it were refinished and coated in hard work, I can only imagine how long it would shine! I don't know about you guys but I really like the product and the idea!.
I bought these glow in the dark wire strippers from my journeyman home when I was an apprentice in my second year. This was done to get me off my game. A day earlier, I had lost my strippers in a piece of insulation in an attic. As soon as we went to the supply shop the next morning, I said, "Uh oh, I need strippers. ". In this case, he added them to the order of materials and accounted for them as expenses. As I was talking to him, he said There is no way you can lose these, ***********! It was funny how he would make jokes on him, but I never liked It has been more than 3 years since I have used these, and I just placed an order for During those three years, my first pair of specs lasted the majority of the time. It wasn't that they broke, it was just that I I am very happy with the cutting edge. Grab a pair of shoes.
It was about 8 years ago that I had the last pair of these. The glow in the dark grips stopped stripping effectively after a couple of days, so I switched When the whole tool went missing, I had no choice but to replace it with this one. It was a bit more expensive than I paid when they first came out, but otherwise none to complain about. Attics, crawl spaces, and other areas where things tend to go missing are great places to use this tool. Until they disappeared, they still glowed as bright as the sun.
It is very hard on the jaws of strippers to cut without a blade. Wire strands are not cut completely when cut with stranded wire cutters. That's a real pain in the rear. Four pairs of shoes in a little over a year have already gone through my hands. Please take note As an electrician, I don't deal with electrical problems every day. In order to maintain a matched set of glow in the dark tools, I have to replace the strippers to keep them shiny. (This is an OCD thing. ) The regular style handle lasts so much longer than these glow in the dark strips.
We are fairly disappointed with this. Channel lock brand strippers have been my go-to for the past 8 years, and I bought these because the handles glow in the dark. It is not possible to fully close the Klein strippers when they are locked. It is a pair of 2 pairs that are both It ended up being more convenient to remove the grips from the Klein and put them on the channel locks instead. In addition, the Klein locks were not as wide as channel locks. It would be nice to only buy the grips and glue them on better strippers if I could. I gave up using the Klein after 30 minutes of usage because of those issues alone. You could strip them fine, and they would cut wire well if you can get them into the machine.
These are a great pair of wire strippers if you are searching for a good pair!.
It is as if these items have melted like a nuclear reactor. You won't have to search crawl spaces for lost strippers anymore. A plastic ground cover that is black is a nightmare. They are Kleins in terms of performance. That's all there is to it.
