Questions & Answers

In my shopping cart, I found a 6-pack I bought a 12 stranded cutter, but the 6 awg hole is a lot too small for 6 awg wire and I am cutting out half of the copper. Can you explain?

Hole likely to be for #6 solid, because the #6 stranded comes in a larger size.

Approximately how much does it come to in millimeters?

The following lists of conversion tables for AWG to mm can be viewed by searching google for "AWG vs mm.". As a result, this product may not perform as you expect if you strictly work with wires in mm. You may wish to locate another calibrated in mm instead.

What are the options for stripping 6 AWG solid or stranded with these?

I do not agree with that I'm unsure of the stripper that can handle # 6 AWG, but I do not recall any that will. A pocket knife or a tool of that nature would be used in the trade.

There does not seem to be a way to purchase the 6-pack Can you make the HD handles of the 12 AWG with the high viz (glow in the dark)?

You can buy them from us! I have the p/n 11054GLW for the glow in the dark handle. This should help you out, I hope! HNSTools by Angie

Selected User Reviews For Klein Tools 11053 Klein-Kurve Wire Stripper and Cutter for 6-12 AWG Stranded Wire, 7-1/8-Inch

Given that these are by Klein, I expected excellent or at the very least good, but would rate these as Strippers like these were underwhelming to me
3/5

Since Klein products are known for their quality, I expected them to be very good if not excellent but I would rate these as just being okay because the openings are too big and so the wire jacket does not get completely cut and is difficult to remove, requiring some additional Strippers from harbor freight, which I bought at a fraction of the cost, work much better and are much less expensive. Unfortunately, these do not work for conductors bigger than 27.

This is typical of Klein today
4/5

As far as I know, Klein continued to operate with the same philosophy I like simplicity. Despite that, it is a true Klein design. It is not extravagant or special, nor is it made from exotic materials, and it is Ultimately, this is a good thing. There are two major complaints about their cutters. The first is that they are inconsistently either not sharp enough, or they cut too deeply for their settings. A product such as this one exhibits those qualities. If you use the stranded wire cutters, you will be able to remove plenty of copper from the 8AWG stripper. To sever the jacket, I have to pull like a maniac on it to reveal everything below it. I have to use the 6AWG cutter for this. This really is a pity, and Milwaukee makes a product similar to this in this price range that I was considering, but decided against it. Those who may be interested in buying should try both options and make a decision accordingly. In addition, although the grip overall is fine, the wrist is not placed in a particularly ergonomic position to provide enough leverage through the wrist. Had I not already tossed out the packaging, and used the tool for a short period of time, I would probably It is hoped that Klein will be able to calibrate their machines so that this product won't continue to make it to the market, and they can regain the prestige of their brand.

The wire stripper is designed to be used in conjunction with the wire stripper
5/5

The wire stripper was exactly what I needed to strip 8 and 10 gauge stranded wire from a board. It was well made and made in.

There are no better options to choose from
3/5

Good but not great. It's not enough to buy an expensive pair of wire strippers so I get what I paid for, so that 8awg) and regular wire strippers won't improve this situation. It seems well made and appears it will hold up, but it doesn't do a good job stripping because the jaws aren't sized precisely enough, so you end up pulling out several wire strands as well as the insulation.

There is no comparison between these strippers and any others I've used
5/5

My work in electrical has lasted for eight years, and I have used a bunch of strippers during that time. Among the Kleins, they are the only ones I've come to trust. Southwires are alright, but their middle nut always comes loose. It works fine with Greenlees, but the quality is not as good as this Klein. It has not broken even when I've used these Kleins for much more difficult tasks than they were designed for (using them as pliers, punching knockout holes, etc) and they've always worked fine. It is only because I lost the other pair that I bought this pair that I am reviewing. My loyalty to these will continue until the end of time, provided the quality remains high.

This is Klein Tools, they should work well
5/5

I haven't used them repeatedly like others, but I bet they are going to work just fine. bought them only for a project that will require #6 &7 There is a voltage drop on the #8 wire because of the distance. Since they were delivered, I have used them about six times and they work as well as any other. Nothing to complain about. A #6 stripper is always useful.

The best wire stripper I've ever used
5/5

A home EV charging station was installed with 6AWG wire. As important as this job was, I didn't want to rely on the sidecutters on my pliers. I was very impressed with the result, and if I were to do it again I would easily do it on a smaller area The wires should be thinner gauge (thinner). I definitely would buy from this company again if the situation arose.

Such strippers like these from Klein are affordable and have a great look
5/5

The curve models I have now are all klein curve models. It would have been great to have had this instead of the 8g max version months ago, but I don't remember seeing this one at the time I got my 8g max. The strippers like these from Klein are affordable and comfortable. Also, I use a pair of Knipex pliers and a pair of Lindstrom pliers, but they are a bit more expensive. There has always been a strong sense of family pride among the kleins It's easy to brand with these, and they're well suited to my hands and processes. However, I have not tried the ones from greenlee or southwire that appear similar yet, and though they are cheaper, I'm unlikely to purchase them.
