How Our Score Is Calculated

Product Description

Wire Stripper cuts and strips wire from 10 to 22 AWG with ease.
Wire is pulled, looped, and bent with the Multi Tool's narrow, serrated plier jaws.
4-40, 5-40, 6-32, 10-32, and 10-24 screws are easily sheared with this tool.
Cutters and strippers are positioned in front of the pivot to allow easy access to tight spaces.
Crimps insulated and non-insulated terminals, as well as ignition terminals with a diameter of 7-8 mm.

Questions & Answers

Is it a bolt and nut or a rivet that holds these together? Isn't it true that the 1010's were restyled?

I recently purchased a new pair of shoes. It's held together with a series of rivets. Not good! Because there is too much slop in the rivit, the cutting blades collide, damaging the cutting blade and causing it to jam.

Is the tool's wording etched into it, or is it simply painted on?

What a fantastic query! The text is etched into the metal and hand-painted on the rubber.

Beware: It is possible for a product to be defective
3/5

It appears to be a good tool if it isn't defective. I did some research and found a good tool. I was ecstatic to have this resource in my toolbox. The product I received, however, was defective, and when I finally got around to using it, I discovered that the tool's two cutting edges share the same plane and, as a result, do not bypass each other; rather, they collide. (Think of scissors and how each blade slides across the other to make the cut, but if both blade edges actually bump into each other, the cut will not be made. ) ) The tool is rendered completely useless as a result of this. I tried bending the blades just a smidgeon to get them to work, but I couldn't; the tool is indestructible. I have the impression that I have received a faulty pair. They appear to be extremely competent. I'm tempted to place another order just to see what happens.

Good, but not as good as the ones I used to have
3/5

I used to own a pair of Klein strippers that looked almost identical to these, which I purchased around 2005. They were fantastic, but I unfortunately misplaced them. These work fine, but the cutting hole sizes are a tad too large in my opinion. The "right" hole doesn't go deep enough into the insulation, so the next smaller hole goes deeper into the conductor, breaking some strands. They're fine for my personal use, but they're not acceptable at work.

At work, I misplaced my previous pear, which was both functional and comfortable
5/5

Which is a bummer because tool control is something I'm very apprehensive about. After hours of searching, I pulled out my phone and placed an order for these as a last-minute weekend replacement for a critical tool (industrial electrician). I'd like to express my gratitude for the pear I had before. The handle is a perfect fit for your hand, and it is fully insulated. When stripping the smaller ones, your index tends to be constantly in contact with the metal. Crimped is also a good option. Blades with a lot of bite. When cutting freshly striped copper that is a little too long, it tends to bunch up in the blade rather than cutting. These are not a problem. It will give copper a buzz cut that is very consistent and free of strays.

I was disappointed
3/5

It had the potential to be a fantastic product, but Klein fell short on this one. These have good grips, but when it comes to stripping wires, they do a poor job, at least for me. It doesn't cut through the insulation well enough to simply pull off the insulation that has been stripped away. To get the wire to cut far enough, gently press on the top and bottom of it. This one let me down. br>br>**Also, the photos in the item listings are a little deceiving! In the photos, the etchings appear to be yellowish, but mine are white on one side and unpainted (black) on the other, which I found frustrating.

These wire strippers will be a hit with you! So, first and foremost, let me state that I am not a professional electrician
5/5

These wire strippers are EXCELLENT in terms of quality. They always remove all of the insulation, including the stringy piece that cheaper brands leave behind. This item is extremely durable! These, on the other hand, are not insulated. I was aware of this when I made the purchase. And as I was replacing an outlet in my kitchen, I was reminded of this. My hair would be standing up straight and smoking if I had any. But, yes, these should be purchased. They're fantastic!.

These are seconds, in my opinion
3/5

To begin, I must state that I have worked as an electrician for more than ten years and that the Klein 1010 needle-nose pliers are the best I have ever used. My right hand holds the 9-inch Klein Linesman's pliers, which I use next to my right arm. I've been buying and purchasing this exact brand and style since day one and know this tool like the back of my hand, but I had a minor mishap at work about 2 weeks ago when I fell into a salt water canal while installing lights on a bulkhead with all of my tools in hand or on my person. To cut a long story short, it's nearly impossible to get metal tools to stop rusting after they've been immersed in salt water. I've been very busy and didn't have time to go to the supply house to get a new pair, so I ordered them on Amazon. They wouldn't close all the way right out of the package, but upon closer inspection, I discovered they were catching on the incorrectly ground cutter blade, and the two blades were catching each other rather than gliding past each other during the closing or cutting operation. They also have a wiggle in them that I believe comes from the hinge. This hinge used to be two Allan key screws, but now it's a compression pin that holds the two pieces together, and it would have been a huge improvement if done correctly. The only complaint I've ever heard from anyone, including myself, about this stripper was that the Allan key type hinge would either be too tight or too loose after a couple of months, requiring constant adjusting. In conclusion, I believe these are either a discounted second that Klein may sell to suppliers at a discounted price or some kind of knock off; either way, I'm disappointed and will never buy something as important to me as this tool on the internet without seeing and feeling it first. br>One last note: I did manage to get them to work, but only after grinding them with my Dremel, some small files, and a small sharpening stone. For those who think I cut something I shouldn't have, see the photos. I'll also point out that these have never been used.

The Klein Tools 1010 Multi Tool Long Nose Wire Cutter, Wire Crimper, Stripper, and Bolt Cutter is a multi-tool that includes a wire cutter, a wire crimper, a stripper, and a bolt cutter
5/5

It's of good quality, and because it's a multi tool, you won't have to stop to get a wire cutter, wire crimper, or bolt cutter tool. It is extremely comfortable to wear and fits my hand perfectly. The best part is that it's made in the United States of America!.
