Questions & Answers

After soldering the components to the PC board, will these cutters cut the wire legs from the components?

You can cut just about anything with these! The only brand I'll use is these! I've carried them everywhere and won't use anything else!

Do these belong to the chps Can you please explain what the 170 model is? Can you tell me what model number these are? I'm grateful for your help! ?

There are five packs of these Hakko CHPs included in this package A total of 170 cutter models are available.

What is their performance at removing insulation on wire? Normally 14-gauge and 14-gauge wires are used. Are you 18AWG?

This is not a stripper show. Overall, I don't think it's a great start. GB strippers or blue handled Klines are best to use.

Do they come from where they are ?

The handle of mine is marked Made in Italy. They are the perfect tool for cutting tie wraps, which is what I intended to use them for.

What a fantastic set of pictures! I bought more in response to my enjoyment of them
5/5

Several times a week I use one pair of them that I have had for almost a year, and one pair is on loan. My hands fit well with the handles and blades being sharp and durable. My work as a technician in the electronics department in 1979 required me to use micro cutters of other brands. As a result of the price, I decided to buy five. I was going to buy two more to keep around, but because of the price, I bought five. As a result, I have a pair for my garage bench, hobby room bench, guitar string box, networking tools box, and cable/antenna tools box along with a few extra pairs for when I misplace a pair in the future. Because my brother considers loaned items to be gifts that are never returned, I will not mention that I lent him a pair. I don't know how any reviewer could have broken these micro cutters unless they used them for something they were not intended for. The only time I have used these is to cut 12-gauge wiring or more but in a pinch, they have come in handy Since I have electrician's pliers and scissors, I don't need to borrow those. So far, I haven't had these break, dent or chip cutting edges, as I have seen with cheaper wire cutters. The money I spend on them is well worth it, and I stick to.

The knife is comfortable, sharp, and inexpensive
4/5

It cuts well and is sturdy. These are widely used throughout our production facility and are popular with our assemblers. In our production cells, I have tried several different models with a wide range of price points and have selected these cutters for general use. As the price is low, it's easy to justify having extra cutters on hand to replace damaged or lost ones. Are they an alternative for extremely delicate work performed with precision cutters? Not at all. Can the assembler use these to cut metal bands on a pallet with one of these? Will you faint from fear when you see them in action? Not at all. Some precision wire cutters are kept for delicate work on fine wire or leads, while a drawer full of these are available for all sorts of jobs.

I am very happy with my purchase
5/5

Dedicated to audio/video installation for over 30 years, I have worked as an electronic technician for over 30 years. It used to be that I only purchased Xcelite wire cutters for the small #22 gauge wires, and they were the best. Now they aren't. They are no longer of the quality they used to be, as is the case with so many products today. There is no longer a flush cut and the cutting blades are Cutting wire ties flat and smooth is particularly annoying when you have to do this Flush the edges so they are not sharp. After giving up countless times when trying to find a good flush cutting wire cutter, I found the HAKKO CHP MICRO CUTTER AND CLEAN CUT 16AWG
Great cutter! There is perfect alignment and evenness between the blades Making sure each cut on cables or wires is clean, neat, and exact. Furthermore, they are made of very durable hard metal and are still tightly cut after many uses. A pair of these 5 packs is always in my bag since I like to have them on hand. The size of these might be a bit excessive for very micro-sized objects When it comes to normal size components, they're just fine. I highly recommend them for miniaturized circuit boards.

Yeah, that's a really good idea

Great product. I've worked in the electronics industry for 25 years and these are the best flush cutters I've ever used. Can you explain? I've never used an alternative that lasts as long as these do. Just a few days ago, I broke the blade on my first pair of scissors, and it happened because I tried to cut something I shouldn't have A flush cutter tends to come out of alignment when the blades overlap, so they stop cutting correctly. After hard use or daily usage, these aren't as good. The blades remain sharp even in the harsh Canadian climate and after I repeatedly use them to cut.

I am very pleased with this product
5/5

Another amazing product from Hakko. It never ceases to amaze me how successful this company is. To date, I have never been disappointed by anything I have purchased from them. The Klein cutters that I had purchased dropped apart after a day of use, so I felt it was necessary to get these. These tools are still sharp and cut like butter. I have been using them for at least 7 months, and they do an excellent job cutting wires and zip ties. This blade has a very sharp edge coupled with an extremely comfortable handle that you may not want to use another pair of cutters ever You can count on me to buy them every time.

The quality of the product is determined by the price

Wire cutters that are disposable. You can use these to cut small gauge multi strand soft copper wire fairly well however, you shouldn't attempt to cut heavier gauge copper wire because it will result in notches in the cutter. The photo can be seen here. It needs to be thrown away as I have two pairs that have been used twice. It is odd because I had a pair once before that I was content with. One of the differences between the five pack and the original ones is the thickness of the.

This is a replacement part for one I had, which has been used and abused, but has worked for as long as I've owned it
4/5

We bought these to replace the previous one that was no longer working. As of now, I had used a few of these. My first one failed due to a broken blade. My purchase was covered by the seller's warranty, and a spare pair was provided as a reward for my Amazing. I am so glad I saw that. Having used these cutters for so long, I am now limited in their usefulness. We're going to do the second one, where the alignment is wrong and the blade cannot be precisely used. They both work, however my expectations were focused on the one which is still in use and still works.

The cut is as good as a dream, and it leaves your wallet There is a $5 per pop charge
5/5

It works like any other pair that costs less than $20. The units aren't as impressive as the Knipex or another german cutter for the price, but at this price, they are not to be put down. Those kinds of grips are nice and soft to the touch and easily cut through wires. As far as I am concerned, these are the best cheap cutters around.
