Questions & Answers

Are you able to cut a lock with a thickness of 1/4"?

In your remark about a lock, I assume you are referring to a padlock or another metal lock of some kind. You would have to inquire with the manufacturer about his or her capability to cut the material you want to cut if my assumption is correct. It has done an excellent job for me when cutting 1/4" wire rope - I have cut about a hundred pieces with it. At first, it is a little stiff out of the box, but after a few uses it becomes more user-friendly.

Is this capable of cutting 1/4" wire rope made of stainless steel?

A large range of cable cutting machines are available for soft and hard steel cables, wire ropes, and small ACSR cables. A wire rope measuring 3/8" in diameter, ACSR measuring 2/16", copper and aluminum measuring

How do they plan on cutting cylindrical copper pipe 1" in diameter (water line)?

1" O might not be the correct answer. It is unlikely that tubing will fit into this cutter, and if it did, the cutter would probably bend or crimp it.

Can this serve as a 3/10 cut?

The wire rope was cut to 1/2 inch with the 1/2-inch wire cutter. However, it was a little hard to cut and we probably could have gotten by with an impact type cutter, but it did the job. It should work fine if it is copper.

They have excellent cutting abilities
5/5

The things I have described here are awesome! How could that be possible for that price? Entertainment Rigging is installed on my computer. Among the features are fly systems, acoustic cloud, pipe grids, speaker clusters, etc. Any piece of equipment hanging over a stage or the ceiling of a venue would be my choice. 1/4" 7x19 galvanized aircraft cable costs hundreds of dollars per mile. I deal with the industry standard equivalent which is significantly cheaper. It seems just as good as the other one. When I saw that it made clean, straight cuts without frayed ends that are very difficult to work with, the only question I had was how many cuts would it last before becoming noticeably dull. Periodically, all knives should be sharpened, regardless of how expensive they are. The job was in a fly system, so it got a lot of use. It probably would have taken me 10 to 12 cuts before I had to cut it again. There are somewhere between 70 and 80 of them As it continued to cut for 80 cuts with no sign of slowing down, I became increasingly impressed and switched back to the battery-powered The easier the better. It was more expensive. I've put these cutters in my box and will keep them there. If they get dull, I will just buy a new pair when they are this inexpensive. Other than 1/4", I haven't experimented with any sizes other than that. I can imagine 3/8" would be pretty hard, at worst, and would only be possible on the ground. The product is rated for 1/2" but who knows. I would not even try it. I would definitely get them again, because they were a great buy.

The money is well spent and the product is easy to use
5/5

A cheap wire rope cutter will leave you with frayed ends, which is the worst part of cutting wire rope. The result is wires poking your hands and frustration during swaging, as swage sleeves have very narrow Using these wire rope cutters has proven to be extremely successful, as they leave the ends tidy, tight and uncrushed. Those allow the ends of swage sleeves to be easily slipped over them. In addition, I would recommend that a small amount of metal protectant spray be applied after purchase, as the cutting head is iron and is likely to rust. I use an Amsoil metal protectant spray, which I believe is the best option Do not hesitate to reach out to me if you have any questions about that product.

Designed to replace galvanized 1/4" cable 7X19 on two boat lifts, this cutter did the job well
5/5

I used it to replace two galvanized 1/4" cable 7X19. All the old cables had to be cut off, then we replaced the old cables with 316 stainless steel cables, so we had to make cuts there as well. Making cuts would be hard for me if I had to place one handle on the ground and simultaneously push down the other handle with my two hands. A very clean cut without deformation of cable is made by the cutter. It is thought that the cutter head is made in Japan, and I have not seen any Japanese cutting instrument that is of any inferior quality. The price of this tool is a great bargain. I am satisfied with the performance of this cable and do not know what it is like with 3/8" You might want to munch on Wheaties first!.

I like this cutter a lot
5/5

Several of my cutters are fairly high-precision, but I needed to make a lot of cuts on stainless cable, mainly 1/8", but I also needed to make some up to 1/4" in diameter. After reading reviews of this tool, I ordered it because of its longer handles. In my experience, this cutter has been very kind and helpful. The last cut was pretty much the same as the first, so there was no need to wrap the cable beforehand. I probably made 300 cuts in a week.

Wire rope in 1/2", ACSR in 7/16" and copper in 1"- The cable is made of aluminum
5/5

Despite Amazon listing basic specifications as of 01JAN2016, this description was not found on the website. The following functions are supported by this cutter The following is a list of the wire rope sizes 1/2 ", 7/16 ", and 1 " The tool is attached to an aluminum cable, as indicated by a sticker. All the way down to The specs of the cutter are not listed on the website. It has been over a year since I first bought it, but I've used it less than a dozen times since then. The cable cutter costs $60 and it is of high quality. According to them, only 5 percent of the nation's population is at risk There are five of them, but each is quite heavy at five pounds The British pound.

The rope/cable is disappointingly made from 3/8-inch galvanized steel
3/5

I bought it so that I could cut galvanized rope/cable of 3/8 inch diameter. You would have to stand on the handles to make it work. When I separated the strands and cut the second one, it worked fine A total of three strands at once.
