Questions & Answers

Could you tell me if this pair or this heavy duty pair is better for cutting chicken wire?

It is not for cutting steel wire (which I believe is the material used to make chicken wire). It is most appropriate to use big diagonal cutters that are cheap.

Here is a thread with a question/answer on beading/jewelry. Please let me know how these cutters will work with 20 to 26 gauge jewelry wire. I thank you for your time. ?

There is a wide range of alloys for jewelry wire. There are two types of cutters for soft materials Wires made from copper or tin alloys. It is likely to dull the blades rapidly if you use steel wire. Consensus* BURKE Concorde

On a rda can these be used to cut kanthal wire?

It is exactly for that reason that i bought these, on advice from a As I see it, they are perfect! I have one of the best examples of quality made by Italian manufacturers. Your posts are cut very close to them as well! As well as cutting single strand 30 gauge up to 3 strand twist 26 gauge. Whenever I get another one, it will be another one like this!

You will need a special pair of pliers if your jump rope has a "wire" rope (metal cable). Falco wire rope cutters are what I use at work to cut safety cable. You don't have to spend a lot of money on these and you won't ruin a good pair of side cutters

Despite being a good tool, it is not the best for what I need it for
3/5

These would be ideal if I only needed to wire a few things. The last time I purchased flushable batteries, there was a shortage of them As I wanted a lot of variations on the same theme, I chose cutters of various brands and models. Of the four I have, these are the most comfortable, but they are also the least useful for general hobby work. The cons are Since the paint or powder coating goes over the "flush cut" side of the blades, they are just a little less able to handle flush cuts. As well, the blades are slightly skewed, so they won't be able to cut it in a straight line (my application is removal of support material from 3D prints) nor will they be accurate. As a final note, the jaws do not open very wide. Although the handles are the most comfortable of the bunch, they are not the sturdiest. I gave these three out of five because they are a reasonable price, good for wiring projects, but I can't think of many uses for them. The products are not something I would purchase.

This is a great sentence - Builders of model kits will find these cutters useful
5/5

Plastic model kits are what I plan on using the cutters for. The spruce trees needed something other than sharp razor knives for me to remove parts without causing damage to the trees. Also, I didn't want to spend a lot on them (as you can see when looking at others, other options can be quite costly). The photos weren't arranged in any systematic way before and I took a chance on them when they "popped out" It is "up" for me as a recommended item. That was a smart move on my part. As of now, I have used them while building a model, and they have proven to be very useful. These cutters were used on a European model kit made with soft plastic they were able to cut through the plastic without crushing it. As a result, parts easily came off the sprues without effort. Handles have springs that can be adjusted to the appropriate tension. I have the cutting blades perfectly aligned and the tool is loaded. It is a very cost-effective tool for building models, and I would gladly recommend it to other modelers.

It is an Italian product of the highest quality
3/5

The update is Dates 10/29/15 - A cutter that has a blade that is not In my collection, I now have a pair of SOFT wire cutters. As well as this pair, I own two other brands, a Plato brand (made in the USA) and a Klein brand. I bought the Hakko brand because I own one of their soldering stations, which is a first-rate product that an auditor would hope for. Among the three brands, I find myself using the Plato brand cutters the most. The electronic work I do seems to require them to be lighter and a little bit smaller (not by much). IMHO, any of the three of those cutters will do a good job on an electronics bench, regardless of personal preference. There is a sense that these cutters are precision-machined These cutters have a nice matte black finish and are well made. I received a pair of these sealed in a plastic bag with the logo of Hakko on the front of the bag. A pair of pliers inside had an initial "C. " on them. A list of "Quality Tools" and a list of non-equipment On the handle, there is a Hakko logo. Right now, I don't know whether the two companies are in the same group or if they are separate entities. As far as I know, there is absolutely no indication that the name "Hakko" appears on the cutter. Regardless of their branding, these cutters are marked as "Made in Italy" and have proven their worth In parallel with the PCB's I work on, they produce nice clean parts. As a result of my years of experience, I have come to realize that IT PAYS TO HAVE THE RIGHT TOOL FOR THE JOB. These copper wire cutters are only intended for cutting copper wire. Since there is no other purpose for them, they will always cut perfectly. This cutter originally received a five-star rating however, I revised it to four stars. This rating is based on stars. In the process of using them for the first time, I noticed that there are a few differences between the blades. Near the tip of the blades, there is about a 1mm gap and on the closest section to the pivot there is also a noticeable gap (see pic). That is to say, whoever cut the blade was not paying attention - Also, the quality control folks were not involved (as long as the cutters were inspected The blades of a cutter whose blades are not parallel will not cut correctly! This will result in a lowering of my initial rating to 2 owing to the blades not being parallel A star. When the blades of a tool with the Hakko label are not parallel, there is no excuse! In that case, I will be returning the.

On two new pairs, there is a loose hinge pin and the jaws do not line up
3/5

QA or the manufacturer's tooling have gone downhill in the last several months, which causes the quality to suffer. Wouldn't it be nice if we rebuilt some I haven't received any of the last ones I ordered, since the hinge is loose and the jaws don't line up properly (which kind of defeats the purpose of having a flush cutter). A replacement was sent by Amazon, but it was in the same condition. There are two pictures in the gallery that I bought *11 months ago and have used (not abused) consistently since then. It is difficult to say which 2 because Amazon continually Whatever the case may be, you can probably guess what the newest ones are.

Simply the best small cutters on the market for the price
5/5

This is the end of the It is possible to just purchase these books here without reading any more. I have ridden hard and put it away wet, as you can see in these pictures. Don't let the cutting blade condition fool you - if you use the items as directed (small electric wire, cable ties, etc. ), they will last forever. My machines have, however, been put into service, performing actions other than the ones they were These cutters have been in service for many years Please note The screws can be loosened by loosening the nut. A narrow sheet of metal can be cut if it is thin enough-- The task of cutting plastic - The steel wire was more robust than it should have been - Searching for random video clips and the like - The result of being accidentally dipped in carb cleaner - The after effects of dunking in carb cleaner and then spraying Brakleen on them - The feeling of being covered in brake fluid- After covering themselves in brake fluid, they are sprayed down with Brakleen. The pivot has never been loose, the grips and blades remain intact, and they still slice I've never used a small cutter as well as these (and they do a better job than any other). It doesn't matter if you buy one.
