Without actually cutting a 1/2 inch wooden dowel myself, I would say that these cannot be used to cut such a This would probably destroy it, as the force required to do so would be excessive.
It is much more difficult for PEX to be cut in very cold conditions It "hardens" in a similar way to many other materials at low
In fact, the cutter can be used on PVC pipes.

The device works fine compared to another I possess and I recommend it to anyone considering using it for pipes Make sure the ratchet is a ratcheting type. Although the blade on this one is fine and the quality is good, I find that the larger ratchet model gives me a more straight and smooth cut when cutting 1" pex. In cases such as Sharkbite connectors, a straight cut is essential to get a reliable The technique works well when you have a smaller diameter.
There are other reviews that give this a good rating. The IWISS Pex tubing cutter arrived today and I've tried it out by cutting about 6 pieces of 3/4 and 3/8 inch PEX tubing. Metal handles that do not bend are used in the construction of this product. It has a plastic handle called I had thought it would break cutting 1/2 inch PEX with the cutter from the local hardware store because it bends so much. A square cut can easily be made, and every cut is neatly executed. It is made in China but so far I am very pleased with the quality of IWISS tools. As well, I have one of their flare kits for copper tubing which was used last year for propane lines. I thank Amazon for providing such an excellent service.
It is recommended by the company to use scissors to cut the tubing, but I have rarely been able to cut at a clean enough angle with a pair of scissors to prevent Utility knives work for everything, right? So I figured that would be the best option. I wouldn't say so The way I do it, I also get leaks. It is a hassle because I have to replace a lot of filters and I waste a lot of tubing when it is not a clean cut every time. This is an excellent set of cutters! Their cutting is perfect every time and they save me a lot of.
My experiment with these cutters worked great right out of the box and was better than literally every other cutter I ever used, but very quickly they dulled and/or chipped. You can use these so long as you aren't a plumber, which is how long we need to use If you are a plumber, they are only good for one full re-plumb This is likely to be the end of the pipe. Despite this, they are much cheaper than the high quality ones out there (that do just as good a job as these when they are new). Therefore, I just buy like 5 at a time, and cycle them through. Because of how cheap it is, I have tried sharpening them after the metal gets dull, but it does not really work.
Quite powerful and can make excellent cuts. It has a nice, clean finish and makes clean, nice cuts. For me, it is important to cut a drip system pipe, and it has been very useful for that as well. Like my pruning cutters, it does not seem to need to be sharpened on a regular basis. You get a lot for a very low price. A good one should be available to everyone.
My purchase of the tubing cutter was due to the numerous cuts I have to make in the poly tubing that is used in our bird bath for connecting the pump and A simple pocket knife does not cut the tubing square or neatly. I used to use a razor blade to cut it. Tubing cutters like this one provide a nice square cut as well as being very easy to use. I highly recommend this tubing cutter, as the blade has no difficulty cutting poly tubing and even with arthritis in both hands I am able to use it. The metal cutter is not cheap, but a high quality metal cutter that should last for years to come.
I made 16 cuts to a half inch PEX pipe and the cutter was sharp, smooth, and easy to use each time. Three cuts were not straight though. It could be my fault since the cut was not aligned properly with the pipe for those three angled cuts. I simply re-aligned the pipe. If the edges of the pipe are not straight, the pipe should be cut again. My house does not contain any three quarter inch or one inch PEX pipe, so I cannot comment on how well these cutters will handle the larger diameter PEX pipe. Other PEX cutters I have used have a larger grip and have a thicker blade. There is no doubt I have a large hand. As I mentioned earlier, the IWISS PEX tube cutter fit comfortably in my hand. I had no problems with the PEX pipe work for which these were used.
I'm used to the giant ratchet types and was surprised to find out they are great for a little rubber hose feel line as well as for pex half inch and 3/4 inch lines. In my experience, I have used it on conduit (gray) and half-inch conduit Various PVC sizes are available, such as one inch PVC.
