What are the dimensions of the area where the pad attaches to the clamp?

I had hoped that the pads would fit my De Walt deep trigger clamp, but they only fit the Irwin.

How big is the area where the pads attach to the clamp? I'm trying to figure out if the pads are compatible with older vise grip clamps. ?

Clamping surface is increased due to the larger surface area. A second set has already been placed on my order. After all, you can never have too many clamps.
