Any bar clamp with a 7/8"x1/4" bar dimension will work with this heavy duty coupler. It makes no difference how long the bar is. I'm using a Dewalt Heavy Duty (600 lbs.) drill. ) clamps, and they're perfect for them.
The heavy duty clamp bar cannot be used with the medium duty coupler. On the medium duty clamp bar, a heavy duty coupler is loose, which reduces coupling strength.
These clamps work perfectly with my Dewalt DWHT83186 heavy-duty clamps.
Heavy- Larger jaws for more clamping surface and a sliding "foot" to keep the clamp upright on the benchtop distinguish duty clamps.

It does a good job of combining two bar clamps into one larger clamp. When working on longer wood projects, such as 6 ft tool boxes with plyboard, having one of these on hand is extremely useful. 2x2's. As if you were splicing two 2's together. Without the assistance of another person, you can use 18", 24", or 30" Bar Clamps. With my longer Bar Clamps, either Glue Ups or Fastening the Coupler worked perfectly. When it works with Long Bar Clamps, it will almost certainly work with any shorties, such as 6", 12", and so on. 18 inches in length I went ahead and purchased a Heavy Duty version. Before I need it, I'll probably buy a second one. There's nothing complicated about using two pins to connect the coupler to two ends of a Bar Clamp. Whoever came up with the idea had a great one.
I was putting up some 8-foot stud walls and used this coupler to connect two 4-foot quick clamps to keep the studs in place while keeping my hand away from the nail gun's business end. Obviously not for the production framer, but it suits my needs perfectly. The coupler has performed admirably. The coupler body is plastic, so I'm taking a star off. It has two metal pins that pass through the coupler and clamp holes. Because the clamps' stressed parts are made of solid metal, this coupler should be made of metal as well. I can see it eventually collapsing and dissolving.
I returned and was quickly given the correct model of heavy-duty Irwin clamps. So far, combining 2 - has been fantastic. Clamps with a diameter of 50" for a clamping job that would otherwise be difficult.
It's not complicated. It works. Check your local big box store, though, because I found them on clearance for $0. I already had 17, but I needed one more, so I went to Amazon.
Without my Irwin clamps, I can't seem to complete any project! This nifty device is perfect for joining two bars together to extend clamp lengths.
Love it.
I haven't been able to locate any.
They were purchased as a gift for my husband, and he reported that they have performed admirably.
