Questions & Answers

I'm sure it's a silly question, but I'm new to this. I can't seem to get the clamp to grip anything. I'm not getting it. ?

Remove the clamp and open it. Place the clamp pads on either side of the work piece and tighten the knurled knob until the clamp is taut when closed. If it doesn't clamp this way, there's an out-of-place little arm in the middle of the clamp. Unscrew the knob until the arm is able to return to its socket.

The ridge/pad arrangement on the R3 jig appears to be designed to hold one of the faceclamp's pads. Is it firmly attached to the clamp?

Yes, the large pad fits perfectly into the Kreg jig's circular clip. You can easily move the clamp to a different location and the jig will stay in place.

Will this work with a 4x4's R3 Kreg system? Is the larger clamp required, or do I not need it?

Yes, it will fit on a 4 x 4 frame. Because a 4 x 4 is actually 3 1/2 x 3 1/2, it's even bigger. It has proven to be extremely beneficial to me.

Where do these come from?

Made in China is stamped on the side, as I can confirm.

It was disappointing
3/5

While I paid what appeared to be a higher price for this clamp than it was worth in comparison to other well-made and well-known brands, I was disappointed with the function and quality. The synthetic latex handle on the lock side of the handles came off after 30 minutes of use and refused to stay on for love or money. The locking function would never stay in the same position, necessitating constant readjustment between pocket hole drilling in the same panel. I expected more for the money, especially given the high quality of the other Kreg products I own.

It's fine, but it's not premium
4/5

The Clamp accomplishes the task at hand. It adheres to the surface. The price point should be around $15, as it is similar to the $10 clamps of this style. The blue rubber handle is a complete waste of money. When you clamp it, it comes off, so just take it off and throw it away. It appears as if it was thrown in as a last-minute addition. br>br>I know it sounds like a bad review, but I really like it and would take a half-star off if I could. Because of the rubber blue piece that only gets in the way, the price is too high. I understand that the Version 2 is far superior, but they cost $30 and can be tried out at your local big box store. If I need more of these clamps, I'll get the $10 ones until the price drops on these guys and they remove the premium tag from the name because the rubber portion is cheap and falls off every time it's used. br>br>However, I still recommend that you give them a chance. A minimum of one is required.

NOT PREMIUM IN ANY WAY
3/5

It was purchased to be used in the construction of a small workbench, and it performed admirably. However, the quality of the construction is not as high as they claim; when clamping the wood pieces, the rubber grip on one of the handles keeps coming off. When you need to make a lot of joints, it's a huge deal. Also, when the rubber on the handle comes off, there's a small metal lever in the handle that just sits there, with no indication of its purpose anywhere on the packaging. Is there anyone who knows? br>br>Aside from that, it served its purpose admirably and was absolutely necessary when using the Kregg R3 pocket hole kit I recently purchased. I'm already planning more projects to use the clamp and kit for!.

This clamp is nice, but I expected more for the price
4/5

This is a nice clamp, but I expected something a little more "premium" for the price, as the title suggests. The vise release's blue plastic cover keeps falling off, and the screw tension adjustment isn't precise, varying slightly over the course of installing 38 handles on my kitchen cabinets and drawers. Still, for less than $20, you should probably get this or something similar because it will save you a lot of time and aggravation. During the project, it did unclamp on me once (causing minor damage), but it otherwise performed admirably. Arms should be a little longer in depth- When I ran into the clamp during some drilling, I had a lot of trouble. If you buy one of the Kreg jigs, you'll almost certainly need a good face clamp like this. In my review of the clamp, you can see a video of it being used.

It's "good" rather than "premium
4/5

" This clamp was purchased to go with a Kreg pocket hole jig. After all, it's pretty simple, and I've used it enough to judge it. br>br>I like the overall feel of it. The materials have a solid, well-made feel to them. The mechanism is well-designed and runs efficiently. It has a standard screw adjustment that allows it to work with a wide range of material thicknesses. I believe it will be a reliable clamp for a long time. br>br>Some of the finer details disappointed me. The rubber over mold on the handles is of poor quality and does not fit well. Some of the other reviews do a good job of addressing this issue. Also, for the price difference, I'd get the automatic adjusting one next time so I wouldn't have to worry about adjusting it while also trying to keep the work in place. Overall, it's a decent clamp, but nothing special when compared to other options on the market.

I was really looking forward to getting my Kreg pocket hole jig, and I needed the face clamp
5/5

The face clamp, unfortunately, was rusted when it arrived today. It's not a big deal, but when you pay $30 for a clamp from a reputable brand like Kreg, you expect a good product. If this were a cheaper clamp, I wouldn't have any reservations because it does the job. The Kreg pocket jig, on the other hand, is absolutely fantastic! br>br>Recent changes: br>br> I emailed customer service and received a response within two minutes, and a replacement is on its way. Kreg provides 5-star customer service.

The Kreg Face Clamp is a type of clamp that is used to secure the face This is a fantastic face clamp
5/5

People have complained about the plastic/rubber grip falling off in a few of the reviews I've read. That is something I am aware of. This clamp is inconvenient, but I enjoy it. I'm thinking about gluing it on. Aside from that, it functions in the same way as any other vice grip. You squeeze away after tightening the screw on the bottom of the handle. Both of the pads that come into contact with the wood are large, which I like. Although the bottom one is slightly larger than the top, they both securely hold the wood. It would be nice if it came with some protective pads for delicate work, but that isn't a deal breaker. I recommend these clamps, which can be purchased or made from thin cardboard in a pinch. I wouldn't say they're superior to the less expensive brand, but I do enjoy them.

It's a nice tool, but it's not necessary
4/5

Although not required for use with the Kreg cabinet jig, it did aid in the construction of some of my drawers. It takes a few extra seconds to use, but it ensures that the jig stays put while drilling screw holes. Because my drawers were different thicknesses and I had to fiddle with the adjustment screw between uses frequently (requiring two hands and thus causing me to lose track of the properly aligned jig), I wish it could be adjusted by simply squeezing rather than turning the screw like a standard vice grip plier. It's a little too big for what it's meant to do. Given that the jig it is supposed to hold in place is only made of plastic, it is extremely durable.
