The overall size of the weapon is 28 inches, with a handle of 17 inches and a blade of 11 inches.
It allows extra clearance when working on deep mortises or taking long paring cuts because the blade is offset from the handle
These slicks are made from high carbon steel and offer a perfect blend of toughness and hardness as well as razor sharp cutting edges

Workhorse that lives up to its name

It has a nice solid weight to it and seems to hold its edge well. Perhaps the narrower one would have worked better for me in retrospect, but I am glad that I spent the extra money on this one.
