Selected User Reviews For Hooyman Extendable Tree Saw with Wrist Lanyard and Sling for Cutting Trimming Hunting and Camping
Back in June '19, I ordered this product to remove a branch from the front porch -- it was encroaching on my I don't think there's any need to mention how quickly it accomplished that task. Next, we are a few months away from the start of the hunting season (October or November). A few stands had to be set up and some long-term planning had to be done There is an unfinished maintenance project Due to the time frame, we all gave ourselves the entire weekend for this as we knew it would be a lot of work and we didn't think one day would be enough. Even the long story was shortened on the first day because we managed to get all 3 stands up AND cut out shooting lanes for all 4 stands!
I found the following flaws to be about the only issues I had with it 2) price, equal to the cost of goods that would be replaced, is reasonable 1) You need to be very careful about the angle of the cutting. While I had to bend the blade back into a straight line a few times, it got away from me when its extension was fully extended. All in all, I am very happy with my purchase, as were the people who helped me with it since both of them had already bought.
There have been other reviews of it. It was important to me to have a pole saw that was easy to store. It would have been better if I had Using it as a hand saw is not even possible, let alone using it as a pole saw. When you start sawing, the blade just sticks and bends, and you are unable to make any cuts. Just to get something that works, I had to order a different hand saw. In order to make this saw more effective, I will try to attach a better blade to it.
I'm very satisfied with the Blade. A shorter version of it is to my liking. In my backpack it fits perfectly. Control is good when using a disk that isn't floppy. There are reports that it is difficult to retract and extend, but I haven't encountered any issues with retracting or extending. The lober attachment I got with it has a tendency to break its blades but the seller was also great. He replaced it quickly, which was much appreciated.
My saw cuts well and is quite sturdy, so that's a plus for it. However, in BOTH the 5' and 10' models I bought, there is an annoying design flaw In order to attach and remove the blade from the handle attachment point, it is nearly impossible. There's just something about the dovetail that doesn't seem to fit, and the locking mechanism is pretty inelegant. The rest of the work on both was spent not only sanding but also filing the dovetail to get even a reasonably To get the blade into place before then, I had to hammer the head on and then take it off. Is a manufacturer ever required to try their own products before they release them? They might be able to make an excellent saw with this model if they revamped it This is how it was designed. Then, I'm sure it will be a different story.
Using this would be fine if you were out camping, and had to cut a small log, or if you lived in Suburbia and need to trim your apple tree. However, if you live in the forest and need to tackle fire mitigation, this is not rugged Generally, I cut the first branch with my Stihl chainsaw, but I wanted to make sure I trimmed the higher, dead branches with my In the beginning of the year, the first Hooyman broke. We had a smooth and efficient return process. the replacement broke just a few days after it was installed. There were ten-foot ropes I had to use to bind my saw to the pole It was necessary for me to use military tape to finish the No, it is not heavy at all. In fact, duty is the only duty owed to you.
The saw I have here is one I bought a little more than six Is not what it was advertised to be. Only used a very small amount. A couple of days ago, I tried using it again and it fell apart. I wasn't very satisfied with the work I did. The handle of the saw was thrown in the trash after I finally took it off. We hope that they have made great progress over the past If you would want her to consider buying again, you would need to encourage her.
The first thing I did when I discovered it was light was to grab it right out of the box. However, when I grabbed the handle and opened it, I was disappointed as it had a very flimsy feel to it. The design of the blade itself was not actually fitting for human hands. I have other hand saws that are quite stiffer when you flick the blade open. It is hard to say how long it is going to last but I was expecting a little more refined saw for this kind.
In order to collapse it down to 12 inches, it is not an easy task. It is difficult to detach the saw from the pole since it is very hard to do so. used silicone lube on the parts, and it was much better, but it is still difficult to separate. A lot of noise will be generated when trying to separate Therefore, if you plan to hunt with it, you will want to take it apart afterward so it does not bang against objects, but it still fits in a hunting backpack with the saw attached to it.
