This sturdy substitute for your hand is cupped like your hand! I've used it to dig holes for planting my summer tomatoes and to dig soil out of the bags since the day it arrived

This is a fantastic garden tool

For my gardening, it's a great tool. My clay soil benefits from serrated edges and a pointed end. And the angle isn't so steep that transplanting previously planted items will be difficult.
