Questions & Answers
Wood is used for the handle. I use the pitch fork to spread mulch and really enjoy it.
You should be able to do so because the fork is well-made.
I'm not sure, but it appears to be well-made and functional.
It has a good connection. I've spent a lot of time outside in the elements, and the quality hasn't suffered as a result.

The last batch I ordered had Austrian steel heads, but this batch had Chinese steel heads, which disappointed me greatly. Crap forged heads are more expensive. The product number is the same, but the heads are of lower quality.
This, like any other Ames product, appears to be built to last; it assists me in tossing and inverting my compost pile, but I believe it is too heavy for my 70-year-old compost pile. old body. My arms take a beating from repeated fork swings. It could have been lighter if Ames had worked on it.
It's only been in use since the fall, but it's built to last. I don't think it'll ever fall apart. For some members of my family, it's a little too heavy, but I find it to be a good hefty weight with good balance.
I looked at a Craftsman pitchfork at Lowes but didn't want to pay the price, so I went with the Ames pitchfork, which was exactly what I needed for a much lower price. I'd buy it again.
It performed admirably and was simple to handle.
The pitchfork was extremely well-made. It's built to last. In a 2-foot-deep compost pit, I use the pitchfork to turn the compost. Strong enough to support the weight of the compost being turned. I would recommend it to anyone with a small farm or garden that needs to be cared for.
It fits perfectly in our compost bin.
It carries some weight, but it does the job.
