Raffia is also commonly used in the Bonsai "shaping" process, which involves tethering it to the tree's trunk and a branch in order to pull it down into a natural-looking downward position.

There is plenty of raffia available. It is necessary to soak and use the product, and it is difficult to wrap in some areas.
