Questions & Answers

How much paint will it take to cover a buffet with a hutch attached?

In this case, Rick B is right on the money. Comparing and evaluating is essential!

To paint over a dark mahogany dresser, I intend to do so. Is there a first step I should take?

The project I was working on already had been painted, and it was so long ago that I cannot recall what I did in preparation for the first painted layer. When I was a kid, the tables and chairs were varnished natural wood. If you wish to first remove the varnish, I suggest you use a varnish stripper or at the very least a primer.

If you stain it, do you need to put a coat of poly on it or will the finish hold up without Is that all?

It was my preference that the finish be dull, so I did not use polyurethane. It would be appropriate to use poly when working outdoors or for high shine.

Does sanding have to be done? would like to sand down a red dresser that was painted off white so I don't bring out the red and make it difficult. Is there a risk of the red coming out?

If you are going to paint over old paint, at least give it a gentle sanding. In case any red shows through after the first coat, a second coat of the paint from this kit should do Over the green, I painted a second time and there was no green to be seen.

Using this tool is easy and I am thrilled with the I am so glad I got this kit! A grayish/blue dresser that I purchased off Craigslist had been delivered to my home
5/5

As part of my overall dining room decor, it should match the other white pieces I have. It was his belief that I would not be able to change it that was lacking. His reaction to the result was amazing it turned out beautifully!.

You can't fool me
5/5

I HIGHLY recommend this product. As a first-time user of this product, I have not painted furniture before, distressing, or done anything of the like, but the kit is cheap, comes with more than enough paint, and makes this project truly foolproof. Two coats of paint were needed to finish this vanity, and I still have 3/4 of the In the process of using the program, I learned that There is a possibility that the paint brush won't hold up, so there will be a lot of bristles falling It isn't a big deal, and you can get away without purchasing a different one without any problem. It's not necessary to apply the step 2 top coat if the surface you're painting is dark wood- There was no need for me to There's not a lot of strength in the sandpaper so either you'll need to use a lot of elbow grease (especially if you did two coats) or you'll need to pick up a different type of sandpaper. This paint is great to work with. It applies well, dries quickly, and looks great. I would recommend it without hesitation, especially because of its.

For distressing, I will not use anything else! I love you! Due to the chalk paint, distressing a lot of furniture has never turned out right
5/5

With this stuff, the dresser turned out exactly the way I wanted it to! After using it for about three hours and including the drying time, I did a dresser in about three hours. Here are some photos of the before and after. At the time that I distressed I had not purchased the new hardware.

I like that it is easy to use and looks good
5/5

We have more than enough furniture for the table, so I'm going to make an end table as well. The final product is pleasing to the eye. Sandpaper and stripper must be purchased separately, and I would recommend buying a good brush as well. Including it is a waste of time.

I liked the kit a lot
5/5

I have never seen that before! My expectations were not met with something that was actually good. The dresser on which I was doing the antiques was large, having a large surface area and plenty of drawers. I was nervous, as this was my first attempt at doing any antique work. Using a dark base paint, I covered the old, dark surface with three coats. The paint dries like iron when it's dry, so it must have taken three coats. The edges were actually hard to sand when I tried to get through it. I am pleasantly surprised at how easy it is to use this kit and that my dresser turned out exactly as I imagined it would I can only criticize the fact that they include sandpaper, which is mostly useless. If you plan on doing anything bigger than a stool, you will need a rougher grade and more of it.

It must be a very old man
3/5

I noticed that the paint in the can of the base color was pale white like water when I opened the can. It didn't seem to help to stir the paint for about 30 minutes. It was clumpy with all the pigment on top of the paint stick and in the bottom of the can. It had already been 30 days since the 30-day return window closed before I had a chance to test this Having purchased from this seller once, I won't do so.

That second step was tricky
5/5

This product has just finished refinishing an end table for me. It offers a great base coat and you only need one coat and a light second coat to cover the old finish. Start by putting a base coat on a scrap piece of lumber and practice distressing it before you begin your project. The distressing coat can be tricky at first, but once you adjust to it, it will look good.

I loved the product
5/5

It was easy to use. Good product. Just to echo others, I thought sandpaper and a brush would be a good addition. Choose one that's better. In addition to applying crystal clear gloss finish, I also applied a polyurethane finish.
