One of the most ergonomically engineered drywaller's tools to hit the market in years! Featuring a textured soft grip closed cell semi-rigid foam handle and a hammer end, the tool will sink to the bottom all those pesky nail / screw heads not properly sunk by the hangers that every "mud man" dislikes! As soon as I received the first 12 inch, I ordered 3 more because they are well built and feel solid. The 6 inch stainless and 3 inch blue steel, as well as the ever so useful 1 inch flex, have come in extremely handy behind door casings and in tight spaces. The Level 5 product meets the dry wallers' needs, and I am SO HAPPY someone has heard their cry to make a better product! As soon as word gets out about how great these products are, I expect the company to sell thousands of them! Also, I wonder what those who complain about premature rusting are going to do about it? When you finish cleaning your tool, either dry it off or spray a thin coat of WD40 on the blue steel surface, and you'll never encounter this issue again. Your tools will take care of you if you take good care of them! My good friend Level 5 has won me over forever, and I'm grateful for them because it's about time manufacturers listened to us. And Level 5 did, so thank you very much! Please note that this is NOT a paid advertisement. am being honest about my experience with these tools since I purchased them myself. My background is in the construction industry - I've been doing it for more than 30 years!.
In my capacity as an amateur drywall taper and installer, I had heard of the legend of Level 5 tools and was eager to give them a try. I was incredibly disappointed with what I received for my order. My blade was sent to me looking as if it had been used, at best, and beaten as much as possible. In the pictures, you can see that this blade has been bent and chipped in one corner, as well as there being scratches all over the blade and a gouge on rubber on the handle seemed to be partially ripped off, and the handle appeared to have been sliced. I regret to inform you that I will not be ordering anything else from Level 5 and those responsible for allowing such a tool to leave the facility deserve shame. Exceptionally disappointed is the only word that comes to mind.
This was the first time I used my new knives. 6,8 and 10 and 12 were bought by me. The handle feels good in the hand. Currently blue steel is not as flexible or soft as I would like, but I'm sure that will change in time. A good alternative to the knives Lowe's or HomeDepot sells, one or two usg's or goldblatt's. Let's give them another month or so and if it works out I will try the stainless steel mud pans.
The scraper is used to remove burnt food from our 36" I love the way it works!.
The only drawback to this product is that it is a bit pricey.
Although I didn't understand the point of the hammer end when I bought this, it's quite handy for knocking pops into your holes so you can fill easily without having to grab.
It has a very good grip, and it is a pleasure to work with.
Specifically, I bought the 14, 12, 5, 4, 3 in. knives from all good knives, they're the same as u. s. g. p. The weight is good and the flex is perfect. It would be nice if they made smaller knives than 3 inches.
