It is possible to fit a quart can inside, but why would you want to? The can rocks back and forth a little and adds extra weight because it was not designed to be used in that way. If you put a can directly in the paint pail, the built-in brush magnet will be useless.
Liners are not included in the purchase price. Along with the paint pail, I purchased ten of them.
A little more than a quart
A metal ferrule is found on almost every paintbrush. The brush is held against the side and raised off the bottom by a magnet. For the three different brush sizes I usually use, it worked perfectly.

The three stars are due in part to my fault and in part to Amazon's fault. To begin with, something I didn't realize until I bought it and held it in my hands was that this size does not have plastic inserts; the larger size does. This brings me to the problem I'm having with Amazon: why are they recommending inserts that don't fit this product but are for a completely different sized product that I didn't buy but should have? Yes, it's partly my fault, but how difficult could it be to NOT recommend a companion product that isn't a COMPANION to something you're buying?.
He's also a professional carpenter, and he believes that any specialty device is a gimmick, and that his old methods are superior. I bought this small paint pail for him knowing that he wouldn't use it, that his way of painting is fine, and that it would be a waste of time/money/effort; I just wanted him to have something to open on Christmas, so I took a chance. HE APPRECIATES IT AS WELL. He spent the week after the holidays painting the garage and using this pail for trim and touch-ups. He said it worked well and was helpful (which is about as effusive as you can get from him, so I'm going to count it as a MAJOR WIN).
I like the magnet inside the cup at the top for holding the brush, so I put my palm against the bucket and let the strap go over my hand. It holds the Wooster brush I used to cut in nicely. This has a perfect liner to go with it. This portable pail comes highly recommended by me!.
I really like this paint holder that you can hold in your hand. I really like how the paintbrush is held in place by a magnet inside the container. You'll appreciate the benefit of the magnet preventing the brush from falling down into the paint as you climb up and down a ladder with this paint holder in your hand. This paint pail also has a nice wide strap for your hand to hold it comfortably without having to use your fingers to grip the container. It is extremely durable and simple to clean with soap and water. I'm so happy I found it on Amazon. I also bought a paint roller container, which I really like. Both of these products are well-designed and make painting a lot easier.
You're not doing bicep curls or bending down as much as you would with a paint can because you're holding it with your arm naturally bent and close. br>br>I keep extra paint in the garage for easy trim painting and touch-ups.
I was on the lookout for some containers in which to paint. And there aren't that many of them. This set-up (with the liners) is fantastic. You can simply allow the liners to dry before discarding them. When you try to wash wet paint cans, the diluted paint goes down the drain, contaminating the water supply. Allowing the paint to dry before discarding the container is the safest way to dispose of it. br>This thing is great because the brush is held in place by a magnet. It was something I used all of the time. Because it dries up after a while, it's much better than putting it in the paint or bridging across the top of the can.
I used to paint for a living, and I had no idea these existed. I used to do small projects straight from the can, and it could get a little messy. When I changed jobs, I began to notice these in people's basements while working on their boilers. It seemed like a fantastic idea to me. I bought one solely for the purpose of painting my daughter's room. This thing is so simple and convenient with the liners. If I'd known these existed before, I'm not sure I would have stopped painting! It even comes with a magnet to keep your paintbrush in place, which is pretty cool. There's also a handy little strap to tuck your hand into. It appeals to me a great deal. Much better than a half-empty paint can or a shattered beverage bottle.
