Questions & Answers

What do you think about this for quarters? How will I cope with it?

A miter and a coping are two different methods for fitting moldings into INSIDE corners. A corner that is outside is impossible to cope with. A mitered corner must be used on all outside edges. Miter joints need to be cut at a specific angle, for both inside and outside corners, so you can use this tool to set the angle correctly. As long as you know the approximate angle, it is of no use to use the tool when you are dealing with inside corners.

Could this be used on outside corners too, or just the inside ones?

Regardless of whether the corner is inside or outside, it works.

What country is this product made in?

China makes it, not the United States

Is something wrong with what I read? Rather than have a dual bevel, the table and guide on my compound miter saw state single bevel. Where does it say dual bevel?

A bevel is a tilt in the saw blade as it moves from horizontal to vertical. Miter saws without bevels are not as common as they should be. Saw blades with a single bevel are tilted in one direction, usually to the right, so that the blade can be cut. Dual-plane with a rear view camera From a horizontal position, the blade of a bevel miter saw can be tilted to either the left or the right. Bevelling is NOT the same as tilting a table to the left or right to set the angle at which you are cutting. There is a difference between the two. When cutting crown molding, such as in this video, you don't need to use the bevel feature. The table saw bevel should be set to 0 degrees, which is perpendicular to the Essentially, all you need to do is rotate the saw table left or right to set the angle.

Identify FAKES and stay away from them! It is likely that there are quite a few fakes available When I opened the package after receiving the item, it turned out to be a fake
5/5

I ordered it from a third-party seller with Amazon fulfillment. A second was purchased from - Originally it was sold by It is not enough to just say "fulfilled by"- As far as I can tell, it is a genuine Amazon item, and I checked it.

I have attached photos with There were many similarities between the counterfeit and the original. Due to the lack of a real one next to it, identifying it was difficult. I would have purchased it if I had found it in an off-price I am not sure I would have had any complaints if I had bought it out of a bargain bin. Though it looked functional, it was still quite old. It would have been better if I had a real tool for this Having concerns that I might end up with less precise miters or having to rework the fake was simply not an option for me. However, the fake I got seemed to be pretty close to the real thing. Among the differences The laser engraving process - There is a true laser in Real Numbers and markings are aligned in a consistent way on the dial. By using a laser, tiny trenches are engraved, with a little roughness at the edges of each recess. Slide your finger across the markings and it feels a little like sandpaper. It was fake because it had some sort of printed markings on top of the surface, with some digits being misaligned. Although the markings could be felt, they were much smoother than laser engraving. Using this method of manufacture would result in a lesser degree of precision. The fit and healthy lifestyle Finish by completing There is a bold yellow inlay on Real with a precise geometric shape that lays This fake had a less precise geometric design that did not completely lay flush in the aluminum plate. The inlay did have a drab, translucent yellow color. On the fake, it was just barely visible that some structural ribs in the plastic were embedded behind the yellow inlay caused by the inlay's translucent nature. The pivot screw consists of a nut and a long screw A pivot screw head on Real has a *0 designation. A 65" (19/32") The pivot screw head on the fake was smaller than on the real. The following message was sent to "60" The package includes The back of Real carried a warning label about Proposition 65, and the book was not stapled shut. Presented in a stapled closed envelope with no Prop 65 warning sticker, fake was stapled closed. Despite the fake being extremely close to the real article, the printing was extremely accurate. It happened that the fake had a barcode sticker on its exterior, but the package still had the original barcode inside. It is possible that some of the details may differ from those There were several discrepancies in this particular fake, but these are just the most obvious. I base my rating entirely on the legit item that I received, and not.

Approximately half of the information is incorrect With a 90-degree angle
3/5

The product is made The device is inaccurate at out-of-square, as indicated by the pencil mark on the box and the USA Made Starrett Framing Square, clearly visible on the picture. It consists of An envelope. The left sees the angle finder I've had for years while the right sees the one I just got. For increasing the quality of the product, Starrett needs to move manufacturing back on shore.

An accurate reading of this one would be an incredible experience! The quality control is not very good, and Starrett Customer Support makes no effort to help
4/5

I think this is a GREAT idea, but it is poorly executed, and Starrett is lacking in customer support. I received a math assignment that was more than a degree off from what I expected. I received the second one and it is DEAD ON RIGHT! IF and when you get an ACCURATE one, then it will be an excellent tool for you. Thank you again, Amazon, for your excellent customer service. In addition to the circumference of the scale being large enough to prevent the tool from contacting the taped corners of drywall, reading it is relatively straightforward. In regards to the first tool, rather than returning it immediately to Amazon, I contacted Starrett directly rather than returning it to Amazon. The instruments my Dad made by Starrett that I cherish have been passed down to me. The instruments are all excellent, and when I was a kid, my father would only buy A. UPDATED In my call with Starrett, they basically said, "This tool is Chinese and therefore does not meet Starrett's criteria for accuracy. ". *Brief* Concluding remarks happen to be one of the majority who get an instrument with reasonable accuracy, then it is helpful. Otherwise, it makes a fun chew toy for dogs. To be honest, I cannot understand what business strategy Starrett must have to let their company name be placed on a tool with lower accuracy standards. Although my dad, the machinist, would be rolling over in his grave at the accurate one, I love it as well.

There's no customer support and I am not satisfied with the accuracy of this protractor
3/5

I think this protractor is a marvelous idea but it has been poorly executed. In the past, many people have mentioned the QC is spotty and you either got a good one or not. You can see I didn't do that. As for the product itself, the dimension with my sample was about a quarter inch out, and it does not seem to be able to withstand such a huge project intact. Also, the product support appears to be non-existent since I did not receive a response following If you ask me, I would stay away, especially at the price of almost $30 I paid for an unreliable chunk of It's a great idea, but the production and support are poor.

This product is made of cheap plastic and has a poor user experience
3/5

It was not what we A flimsy plastic packaging with a difficult to read font. It is not very user friendly because the protractor simply has rounded edges with no good 90 degree square edges. It is also difficult to read due to the many markings inside. As well as the instruction leaflet, which came with it, states that the tool should be used on crown This protractor does not have a general instruction manual that describes how to use it I cannot justify forking over this much money for such a small item. There is no doubt that a digital tool will be much more accurate, you will find that many of them come with a nice 90 degree edge making it easier to work, when in metal they are usually cheaper than the analog tool.
