The following or something similar is sometimes needed for me. It was my first time buying this, I really liked the Robert Larson version 1st, but I misplaced it, so I needed to replace it. So for $6US, I got a nifty tool that I have already used a number of times and still continues to work. You can't go wrong with this, it works, & it's simple
I highly recommend this product because it is inexpensive. As a result of my purchase, the first one arrived automatically since I bought a replacement, am I I have two of these now since they are identical. There is a lot of speed & flexibility This is a simple interface.
Both of these are excellent tools, especially for the price.
If you need a center finder I would recommend this one.
If I needed to buy again, I would do so.
To mark a line, simply put your stock against both walls of a "V" area and mark. Turn 180 degrees and mark a second line. The center of the two lines is where they meet.
I felt exactly what I needed after reading your article. The center can be found quickly and easily in jewelry pieces using this tool. Saves you a lot of time.
Using this to find the center of wood stock for my lathe was a wise purchase. I use it all the time and would not hesitate to purchase it again if it was available. I don't recall ever using a tool like this before.
Not only does it work perfectly, but it also feels quite heavy duty, much heavier than I had anticipated. You'll be happy if you buy one!.
There seems to be little chance of the plastic breaking down.
The way to get the best result is to go around the piece until you reach the center where the lines cross before they cross again.
If you use it with a big pencil the line will be a little off but if you use a small regular pencil the line will be fine.
