Basically it is just the physical size. I ordered size 1, which I use for measuring medical furniture that has adjustable angles. It is best to purchase the tool in size 1 or 5 based on the size of the product you are going to use it It appears that size 5 is a better fit for the building

It was bought over a year ago, and I have used it once or twice. Even though I was continually wondering why some of my angles were a bit off, it did not matter. My Irwin spirit level is in better condition and has seen more use so when I had to use this in conjunction with my spirit level, I thought it was off. With the help of a try square, I confirmed that it was the Johnson angle finder that was off by about 2 degrees. This is only made worse by the fact that it is not adjustable. It would have been a good idea to check when I received it I guess Made in USA isn't what it used to be.
