It's a great laser leveler and plumbing tool for the price

I used it to mount a precast concrete driveway The door was hung after I had first tried a level that was shorter than I needed. When I was having problems, I decided to give this a try and I was able to be sure it was perfectly squared and "laser" straight. Compared to a 6 ft level, it takes up less space, is more versatile, etc. I am not very fond of accumulating too many tools, but this seems to be worth it to me. Although I have not tried the tripod or bracket that came with it, I wonder if the more expensive ones would be better and more durable. For a DIYer, it seems perfect. However, I have not tried the bracket or tripod that came with it.

Prior to raising to level, needs to be placed in place and locked

The tool is great because it levels itself and can be seen inside and out when the sun is setting. Depending on what you plan to use it for, it may be a little hard to see outside when it is sunny. The line could only be discerned about 5 inches into the ground when I tried using it to make a straight line. My guess is that it would've been more visible if I had used it later in the evening. The feature requires a lock so that it can be activated once it's been positioned. Once activated, the light turns green when it's level, which lets you know when it's in the proper place. Battery life lasts a long time before it needs to be replaced, and this is a great product.

It would be nice to have a brighter laser. It is very useful to have this clamp and its clamping mechanisms. Laser is easy to setup and use, but it is somewhat difficult to use outdoors at a distance beyond a few feet in overcast conditions.

I love how neat this little contraption is! Hanging pictures or that simple task of prepping the walls for stenciling is a breeze. Having this in our house makes us happy.
