I bought these with the intention of cutting a few of them up for my project, and both the ones I cut and the ones I didn't worked out perfectly. Note on the length - The brightness of LED strips decreases as the strip's length and number of LEDs increase. Be careful how many extensions you use, and be aware that the further they are from the controller, the less bright the LEDs will become. Inside the outer sleeve, there are small, individually coated wires. When soldering directly onto the LED strip contacts when doing a custom job like mine, you can cut these, strip the outer sleeve off, then (carefully) strip the individual wires inside. The wires are stranded copper wire when you get down into them, and can be soldered directly onto the LED strip contacts. made it to the end Heat shrink tubing should be used to protect these wires, as they are small, delicate wires that should not be exposed. Outside, the wires are still soft and comfortable flexible, but not limp, when not being cut up. The connectors did not appear to be sloppy in any way. Male to male couplers are included with all cable ends. To keep track of orientation, there is a small triangle on the connector that indicates the common wire.
Installing the lights is a breeze. The adhesive backing is strong and pleasant to the touch. br>br>For the first few weeks, the lights were perfect. I linked three straps together. After a few weeks, the colors began to become erratic. The strip's color changes from one end to the other. And things are only getting worse. Please let me know if you find a way to fix this. It causes me to dislike them to the point where I don't want to use them any longer.
br>br>The only drawback is that it wouldn't stay together even though I had the correct connector ends. I'm going to have to get some electrical tape and tape it all together. The fit is to lose, despite the fact that the cord is so slack that it sits on the floor. I'll use electrical tape to secure it, and everything should be fine from there. 🤞.
It worked, but two of the LED strips had discoloration on a few of the LEDs, and some of them didn't light the same color. Everything has been installed, and it is now an eyesore.
It really works. I connected three sets of light strips around the perimeter of the house. I was able to run these cords through the attic to only other locations using these cords. For a seamless appearance, this is ideal.
To extend our leds, I used it in a light trough. It's really good. There is no loss of power. The brightness of both light strings is the same. One has an extension and the other does not.
a chain that has lost its radiance.
