They aren't waterproof, for one thing. However, they are resistant to the elements. Rainwater cannot enter the weatherproof plug, which is a significant difference. If you submerge the plug in water, however, water will leak into it.
In the panel, use a gland seal.
The specification sheet can be found beneath the images. These are, however, extremely small. It's a tad bit smaller than your pinky.

The good news is that they appear to be well-made, and I am confident that they will be waterproof (I am currently putting them to the test in bitterly cold winter weather). The four-pin small ones were purchased. Design flaws, on the other hand, irritate me: 1) Because the key that aligns the rotation is difficult to see and does not extend far beyond the pins, you cannot simply rotate the plug until the key engages. If you do, the pin will bend. 2) the O- If you are not careful, a ring that should be captured (but isn't) will fall off and become waterproof. At the very least, it's orange and easy to spot in the dirt. 3) Less serious is the fact that the screw on connector cap between the male and female is also missing. You won't lose a wire once you've soldered it to the connector. br>I have upgraded my rating after using these for five weeks. All of my previous flaws remain, but these guys made it through five weeks of 70 mph winds and subzero temperatures with sleet and snow. I have 80 connections, and none of them have failed. Meanwhile, the weather stripped the insulation off of an external four-conductor security wire. These are a good buy in my opinion, and the minor flaws are worth it. I simply use a metallic Sharpie to align them the first time they are together.
- I can't say enough good things about the *quality* of these plugs; they're exactly what they say they are.
- However, unless you happen to stumble upon the correct item by accident, none of the descriptions are very clear. The reason I say that is because I need to add a PWM controller to some overly-powerful electronics. LED string lights that are bright and colorful 22AWG is the gauge of the *wiring*. As a result, I bought these to match the wiring.
- The *plugs* on these, on the other hand, DO NOT FIT ANY of the transformer-style plugs. That light string's cord plugs, or any of my other LED light strings' cord plugs I need to get the ones with the 18AWG wire, which is larger, in order to get the right size *plugs*. I'm not sure if the difference in size will have a negative impact on everything. So I debated whether or not to get the larger size, but ultimately decided against it.
- To be honest, finding a string light extension should not be this difficult, and for the price of a sacrificial set of string lights, which results in more unnecessary land-fill, it would be cheaper to just buy a sacrificial set of string lights.
- Except for the dimmer, which must be placed after the transformer but before the section with the lights, I'd just use a regular extension cord.
-
- "Extension for 2 pin single color LED outdoor string lights with transformer" should not be such a big, darned mystery. Others have expressed their dissatisfaction with the way things fit, and so on.
- In the end, it appears that cutting the original cord near the transformer and using these small-diameter cords will be the most straightforward solution. a pair of plugs in the right way wire of various sizes > to add the extension that contains the dimmer
- I wish I'd known that before I went bleary-eyed. Page after page of unusable cables had left me wide-eyed.
I've only used two of the five to add some extra lights to my motorcycle so far. In case I needed to remove the saddle bags, I needed the waterproof connector. These connections will unscrew, allowing you to keep the lights that are already attached to the saddle bags. In addition to the rubber O ring that was already there, I used some teflon tape on the threads. So far, everything has gone well!.
So far. These were purchased for an outdoor lighting project and were used to connect eight LED strips to a central connection point. br>br> They have a good lock and seal. The product appears to be well made and has a good design. The core wires are nice and thin, making sodering a breeze. The connection ends twist tightly together and fit snugly. br>br>It's a good idea to mark the notch on both ends of the connection. They're a little difficult to see, but it'll make connecting them a lot easier. Overall, a good product that I would purchase again. br>br>.
Wires that are extremely short. Does exactly what it is supposed to. The item itself is satisfactory. Wires that are extremely short. Does exactly what it is supposed to. br>Now, I'm not really complaining about the product; rather, I'm complaining about the particular set I received from Amazon Warehouse. There was a layer of crystalized something on everything. sugar? Is it salt or acid from the batteries? It was even in the bag that had been sealed. Amazon should be ashamed of themselves for reselling something in such a bad state. Out of the five pairs, only one could be salvaged. I would have returned everything, but I needed to finish my project and didn't have time to reassemble everything and do it all over again a few days later.
The male to female interface is well-fitting. The units appear to be well-made and should meet my requirements. The only possible disadvantage is that the conductor wires are molded into the outer shield covering, making it difficult to remove it; however, the amount of lead exposed, as received, will suffice for me. However, for some users, this may be a problem.
They'll do the job, but they're not particularly well constructed. The male plugs' plastic was soft and deformed. I had to work a little harder to get it into the female side, and a much more rigid plastic would be far better. When the cap is screwed down, a gasket will form a seal. I'm still not convinced they'll stay dry.
So far, I've used them for my front turn signals and Daytime Running Light LED Strips, as well as my rear turn signals and brake light. They're simple to use, make removing or connecting pieces a breeze, and are a great product overall!.
