Questions & Answers

Is an astm test conducted on these luminaires in accordance with requirements for recessed lights under the 2018 irc? Can you verify if they are listed as having an air leakage rate less than 2 cfm?

There is a gasket that can be removed that allows this. Having never seen anything like that on a label, I never realized it. It is a product that I have installed more than 500 of in the last year with no problems.

As I am building my house, I am looking for a way to use these cans as lighting. Where can I buy a plug just by itself?

With most LED lights that are with trim, you will be able to switch from a plug to a screw in if you already have cans with an e26 socket.

Is it safe to use closed cell spray foam for ?

Thanks for your question, Amazon Customer. Yes, this is IC rated, which means you can put any type of insulation in contact with it.

Is the trim available in black?

I'm looking forward to hearing from you. We can only offer this can in one style of metal, so if you have any other questions or concerns, please let us know!

This is junk! Don't let spray foam fool you! Installation of 74 recess cans in a ranch house of 5000 square feet
3/5

Spray foam could be sprayed on the house after the cans are installed. All the inexpensive wire connectors inside the junction boxes reacted with the spray foam, so each and every recess can needed to be replaced with brand new wire During the 24 hours, labor will be charged at the rate of $65 per hour. When I called Sunco and emailed them, none of them could care less! I just got the finger thrown at me. Even though I was eager to work with the company, they wouldn't reimburse me for the time spent digging out 74 recesses in spray foam in a 1 square foot space. This is a $5 million I sent an email and I called. There was nothing they could do The Sunco products you made a few years ago are We are pissed off that you changed the connectors that connect the recessed housing to the cans, as well as the garbage trims that go with them. Now the product is cheap junk! Despite that you had major issues with your products, you wouldn't stand behind them! The wire working with you guys went well. However, as soon as I put you on blast, you will be avoided.

The price is great, but the installation is difficult
3/5

As I tried to hang these items, I felt like I was piloting a helicopter. The only way I could hold everything in place was with at least one extra hand and two extra fingers.
I would appreciate it if you could lock the span a little more positively before hanging it. Rather than a sheet metal screw, perhaps a simple clamping assembly would be more appropriate. As I had a framing hammer, I was unable to nail easily with it since it was too close to the rail. Trying to nail one corner at a time and the opposite corner at the same time would make the whole thing wrack and fall apart. The duct tape I used ended up being significant enough for me to nail one end into place and duct tape.

It is a great light for installing a new system
5/5

These can lights came in a 12 pack for my purchase. The lights are really easy to install. The manufacturer has provided push-in connectors for the wiring, which makes it very quick to wire them up. It turned out very well. I am very happy with it. They should be spaced at a distance of I put a light 5 feet from the wall, 5 feet apart in both directions, and there was no shadow on the floor, because of a 5 foot distance between the walls and 5 feet space between the ceiling lights. It would be great to have these lights installed in Basement areas with access to rafters or floor joists are excellent places to look.

Installing new recessed lights using this solution is a good idea
5/5

A newly constructed covered patio is home to these items. Installing the machine was simple and making the electrical connections was straightforward. With the recessed LED lights, the cans come with plugs that match the Instead of using the included nails which were problematic (dull? ), I used screws to attach the cans to the joists. This could not be done, as the screws were too thick (approximately 15/16 inch) and difficult to hammer in. Located in the southwestern part of the country, this is a great value and should last for many years.

It is painful because of TJI
3/5

It seems they are of good quality. There is one problem. It is expected that the width will be at least 14". I could use this with 16" on center joists and 14" from the bottom to the top. The number five. In contrast, TJIs (engineered joists) are more like 13 inches in width. The number five. Take the tracks off, break them to shorten them and then put them back on. TJIs are becoming increasingly popular, so it might seem odd for the designers to do this design choice. A fixture could not be mounted to these either I have no idea how it would work. A lot of things are in place, but nothing of note keeps them It would be great if there was some sort of documentation or assurance about what fixtures will actually hold up to these.

There's no hold on the set screw
3/5

It seems as if the set screw that holds the housing in place just gives out the moment it is barely tightened. I have worked as an electrician for over thirty years. It is a company I buy a lot from, but I am not interested in their housing.

This is a good price for a good house
5/5

I'm in the process of building a new home. The number of can lights I will need is 84. It was the first time I bought these so I could see how they compared to the Halo brand in my local big box store. As far as quality goes, I'm extremely satisfied. In the next week or two I plan to purchase six more sets of 12. I think it has all the features the local brand has at a lower cost.

Prices that can't be beat
5/5

Its price is unbearable if you compare it with price quotes from other vendors for a similar service. Because it's just the frames and it's hidden behind something else, it's a decent product. For now, I do not need a fancy frame because as long as it does the job, I can save the surface decoration for.
