Some weird reason causes this switch to become hot both during use and when not being used. The switch gets too hot and I can't really forgive that. It is okay but it's a bit scary to have something that hot, even if it is not dangerous. Compared to Kasa or Feit, the app is also much more clunky. Setting a minimum power level is quite difficult, and I honestly do not think that I was able to do so. Dimming and three-directional switching are both supported, which the Kasa cannot, but that is a capability of the Feit. I like how there are different installation options, like inserting the screw from the back or installing the screw from the front. The Kasas have a neutral and a ground so that's even easier, but the look is a little less clean. Although it is a lot better than the Feit install, with the Feit you don't have the option of screw terminal. If you have a wire that isn't perfectly straight, it might not catch on the backstab clamp, which could lead to problems.

When receiving a product, it is important to keep an eye on the age. I have installed some of these at my house without spending a lot of money. Recent purchases of these have turned out to be a disaster. (I have tried two older Apple products, but they are not compatible with the app. Two weeks already have passed since they asked for my shipping address (for a second time, to be exact The first message was still visible in the email thread), and nothing happened. I have not yet received the replacements, nor has it been announced whether they have been shipped. It has not replied despite a follow-up email I sent 10 calendar days after I requested an address.
For the first batch, they are fine. The more recent ones can be used like normal switches, but not for remote usage, which was my purpose in purchasing them.

We used it to replace our ceiling fan and it was so much easier than pulling the chain. It is suggested that you set the fan on full speed before installing the switch. The switch then controls the speed of the fan.

I've used a lot of fan controllers, but this one just seems cheap to me. Switches like these are soft and feel cheap, and the click itself is soft as well. The face plates can be interchanged. This may be the cause, but for now, everything is fine. The quality has dropped, or have I been sold a knockoff from China?.

My house just recently went on the market and the previous owner had a dimmer attached to the ceiling fan. As soon as the fan was turned down low, it hummed like a school of angry bees. I swapped in this correct fan speed control and now everything works as it should.
