Dear Mr. Smith, thank you very much for reaching out to me. You will need a remote control called The Lighting Shoppers Customer Service Department
A switch is located on the housing of the fan.
Customer service at Minka helped me pick the right components for my fan, although I don't understand what it was they were doing. It would be a good idea to contact them.
Ideally, you'll need a remote that lets you reverse the directions. You can view the Minka Aire Ceiling Fan Remote RCS212, Hand Held 3-Button on Amazon You'll see a curved pair of arrows at the bottom of the larger speed control dial. This symbol denotes that you can go forward or backwards. Similarly, hand held remote controls are available in both directions (reverse and no reverse), as are in-wall controls, such as the Minka Aire Ceiling Fan Wall Control WCS212, 3-position. A forward/reverse speed control and an up/down light dimmer are available. Although I am not aware if Minka fans support reverse fan motion, there is a chance that if this was the ceiling control remote and the in-ceiling module that was shipped with your fan, it may not work.

It worked fine. An electrical power surge caused my Minka Aire ceiling fan's receiver to become damaged during a brief power surge that caused my household lights to flicker several times. Under the cover of the fan I found a receiver with model number CFR- I pulled the cover off the electrical connection on the fan. posted a search on Amazon for the model number and got this one in return. It appears that this kit has a direct replacement receiver, although it has a different model number. I use my 3D printer in both my car and home. The unit fits and does its job well, the instructions with it are clear and it is Wires of the same color to each other -- Wires connected in black to wires connected in black Easy as pie! Just connect the blue wire to the blue wire. A gotcha that I only discovered after installing the receiver is that the hand-held transmitter does not have an on/off switch for the fans. Unfortunately, I did not pay attention to what I ordered when I placed Thanks to my old transmitter, my new receiver was able to receive the old signal. In case anybody wants one of the extra transmitters, I have one.
This made it possible for me to use the light separately from the fan. A fan (without a remote) and a lamp originally came together The wiring did not allow for separate use, in other words, the fan and the light had to be used together The fan and light operated at the same time. When the fan was on high, the light was at its brightest. It was impossible to run the fan without the light A professional electrician had to go into the fan box in order for it all to function, but now it works great, either separately or simultaneously. I now have the option to use it this way or not. It was told to me by an electrician I would have to tear out the drywall & install new drywall It is not possible to add another wire to the ceiling.
an outlet for a ceiling fan in our dining room, but there is no switch on the wall. This new minka fan does not have a pull chain, as we wanted a fan without a pull The only alternative without a costly electric wiring installation to the wall is this remote control. Our remote has worked without replacement batteries for over a year now since we first installed it. A slight incline of about 20 degrees exists in our ceiling, but the receiver fits the Minka The ceiling is a little steep, so I don't know if the bulb fits.
My Hunter ceiling fan turned on fine after the power went out. I find it stupid that the fan is set to turn on when power has gone out. In our kids' room, the ceiling fan light turns on if the power goes out because we live in a rural area. I have solved the problem by using this approach. The remote also looks much nicer than the Hunter one.
You'd expect one company to cross-reference the install instructions, but I was able to install everything. An important aspect of doing things in the right order is the order in which you do them. It's nice that you have the option to dim the lights using the control. Dimming the LED, however, causes it to buzz. An electrical issue requiring an ELV dimmer is revealed by finding the problem on Google. This appears to be a wall mount thing, and since I just got everything set up, I'm not replacing it. When the Minka Aire light kit ships with LED bulbs, it would be nice if the dimmer function of the Minka Aire universal light kit did.
In this case, an identical receiver replaced the previous one. In the end, I was able to reprogram the original remote, so my wife and I have a remote on our nightstands. This was the second time I had to order it, I was told that I would be notified by email when the order shipped for the first time. Despite the fact that it was listed as being in stock, it didn't ship after a week, so I cancelled the order Three days after I placed the second order, I received the third order.
It matched an existing control, and I was satisfied with the existing control and wanted continuity, so I ordered the new one. The two remotes work well, and you can also program the remotes so you can control fans close to each other without interfering with each other's operation.
As a result, I now have three fan speeds and I can use either light or fan independently!.
