I wouldn't recommend using this seat with a bidet, Lara S, because we have special attachments that we use to install this seat. Dear Mayfair, I am writing to express my heartfelt gratitude for the opportunity to work with you
This seat is incredibly strong and supportive!

It also fits perfectly. This seat is excellent; I purchased it to replace the Kohler seat that came with our new chair-height toilet (which was extremely uncomfortable), and because we had previously used this brand, I decided to give it a try. It was extremely simple to set up. On that subject, there will be more to come. One thing to note is that the mounting system does not appear to allow the seat to be easily removed for cleaning, but to be honest, I never used that feature on our old seat because it was so easy to clean. br>br>Let's get started with the setup. It went very smoothly. Manipulate the hinges as needed to get them to lie flat against the toilet's porcelain. OBSERVE THE INSTRUCTIONS AND COMPLY WITH THEM. The metal bolt will be installed first, followed by a small white plastic nut, and finally the INSTALLATION FROM THE TOP. The hinges were a tight fit, and I had to work them hard to get them to lay flat, and then the mounting holes on the toilet were a tight fit when I pushed the round plastic piece into them, but it was simple enough! I'm sure some people think there's something wrong with it because it doesn't come out of the package flush against the toilet and you have to push the plastic top piece into the mounting holes pretty hard, but IT WASN'T HARD. I finger tightened the bottom nut, then used a socket wrench to tighten it all the way once I had it lying flat and lined up the way I wanted. Although a socket wrench is not required, it is more convenient. The bottom nut's small plastic indicator piece popped off when it was tight enough, and that was the end of it. THIS IS NOT GOING TO GO AWAY. It looks fantastic. br>br> It's a big seat, with a slow-moving motor. Close is a fantastic feature. The best part is that it is COMFORTABLE. The chrome hinges are larger than I anticipated, but they appear to be BETTER than the stock photo suggested. The seat appears to be of high quality. It's a lot nicer than the Kohler toilet lid that came with it. br>br>Here are a few helpful hints: br>1) When tightening the bolt after the first finger tightening, have someone hold the seat in place to prevent it from shifting. 2) READ AND COMPLY WITH THE INSTRUCTIONS. br>3) Pay attention to the instructions. br>4) Did I say you should read the instructions and follow them? When people complain about difficult installation but clearly haven't read the instructions, it irritates me. This was a breeze. br>5) To that end, I am a 47-year-old woman. year- These small tasks around the house are something that both old women and I enjoy doing. Because he was the closest available person, all I asked of my husband was to hold the seat in place while I cranked down the nut. This seat was so simple to install that if my dog had opposable thumbs, he could have assisted me!.
It's a sturdy toilet seat that's simple to install and looks great in my bathroom. I like that it's made in the United States and that it looks and feels like a high-quality product; I would have given it five stars if I had bought and installed it; However, after being installed for just over 6 months, the slow close feature (which was my primary requirement for a toilet seat) has stopped working. On August 8, 2020, I bought the seat, and on February 15, 2021, the slow close stopped working! This product was reasonably priced in comparison to similar-quality products, but I'll either have to buy another or deal with a slamming toilet lid. I'm extremely disappointed, and my Amazon return window has already closed, so I won't be able to return it there.
Look at the image. I followed the installation instructions to a tee, but when I lifted the lid, the screws on the right hinge stripped out. In addition, the metal scratched the seat, exposing the manufactured wood to water damage. br>br>I am not interested in returning it; I could fix it with bigger screws or superglue, but it's inconvenient. br>br>Recent changes: br>br> In place of the supplied 6 3/4, I used an 8 3/4. The lid has a crooked appearance when closed. I believe the holes were not drilled evenly to begin with.
I strictly adhered to the instructions. Instead of the bottom piece breaking off as expected, the top piece snapped and is now stuck in my toilet. I'm not sure how I'm going to get it out without clogging the toilet. I requested a refund and was told that I would have to return the entire item. I'll gladly send the seat, but they'll have to come to my house to get the rest.
BUY THIS PIECE OF CRAP AT YOUR OWN RISK! While it was a good installation, it was far too difficult to set up. After only four months, the slow close failed. It's now even more difficult to reverse the process. install is the term used to describe the process of replacing something. DON'T EVEN THOUGH IT SEEMS LIKE A GOOD IDEA. DISCLAIMER: DO NOT PURCHASE THIS ITEM.
I installed this a few months ago, and it's a fantastic product. I needed to replace my broken toilet seat, and I wanted something with unique hardware because my old seat always wiggled - this is it. Plastic screws were prone to coming loose. I read through a lot of product descriptions before deciding to try this one - I'm so glad I went! Metal screws are used, and one end of the screw is screwed into the seat. The piece that goes into the toilet hole is a snug fit (to prevent wiggling) and requires a little pressure to secure it in place, but once in, it stays put. The parts that appear to be metal hinges do not feel like metal, but they are sturdy and functional so far, so I am not sure. As described, the seat and lid lift easily and close slowly and softly. there will be no drop no sound. Arrived a day ahead of schedule.
even if it is brand new Bemis/Mayfair's engineers and chemists need to investigate and improve the paint/finish product they're using on these seats. I bought a "Bemis" toilet seat about 4 months ago, and while it's a well-made and attractive toilet seat, it had a foul odor that wouldn't go away (I tried bleach, ammonia, vinegar, dawn, and everything else). I figured it was a bad run, so I ordered this "Mayfair" because the chrome hinges appeared to be similar in style - I like it, but it has the same odor problem. The odor comes across as if the toilet and seat haven't been cleaned in a year if you're within 5 feet of it. It is disgusting. I've noticed a couple of other Amazon reviews that say the same thing. I really like the look of these seats, but I'll have to buy and try something else because I can't return them due to California health and safety laws. I'm not going to do it because it's a little embarrassing, so I'll just eat the bill and move on. I intend to contact Bemis/Mayfair (which are the same company, by the way) to inform them of this terrible manufacturing flaw. Perhaps in the future, there will be an update. Let's hope for the best.
