I'm a 170 pound woman. There will be no issues. I'm sure it could handle a lot more weight than I could. The seat appears to be made of molded plastic. The feet of the seat have been molded into it.

I ordered this because the one on my toilet before it was the same brand and had metal screws, so it was a no-brainer. This one, on the other hand, is poorly constructed with plastic screws and a complete waste of my money. No matter how tight we tighten the PLASTIC screws, it keeps coming loose and the seat slides! This is just as effective as the $6 version. At Walmart, you can get one for $00.
Installing is a piece of cake! I'm delighted with my purchase.
It's a great seat, but the paint was damaged by bleach cleaning spray. It's removing the paint, as far as I can tell. We had a different brand that did the same thing. . . all they need to do now is seal it with a bleach-resistant sealant.
The rim of the bowl is never in contact with the rim. The slow- Because the close spring is so tight, there is still a 1/2-inch gap between the bowl and the seat rim, which can only be filled by sitting on it. In my opinion, this is not a good thing. As a result, you can get a seat that slams shut when you get out of it. Alternatively, you could purchase this and have it slam shut when you sit on it. Also, a small amount of paint is missing from the seat's edge, which you can choose to ignore. Obviously, this isn't the most serious problem. The design and quality are both poor. Maybe the vendor will have something to say about it.
I was a little worried because of the few reviews, but this is an excellent product; I bought four of them in white and biscuit and have had them for a month. They were the only wooden seats I could find. It was made of a nice material with a soft close, and it was less expensive than some competing plastic seats. br>br>***Update after over a year of ownership - I still stand by my previous assessment! The only criticism I have is that after a few months, I had to tighten the bolts on all of the seats.
After sifting through a few plastic self-closing seats and another wood composite blended one with flaws, I came across this perfect seat. I had no idea how difficult it would be to find a good seat, so I'm glad I chose this one.
The wooden seat was defective when it arrived, with a crack across the donut part where you sit. I was replacing a wooden seat that had cracked in the same spot (over one of the rubber bumpers) after four years of use. This one was unboxed and immediately cracked. I'm returning it, and I'm going to order a plastic one in the hopes that it won't have the same problem. I'm glad it's so simple to get back!.
The ability to close is fantastic. Until I added a bidet attachment to each of my toilets, I never considered upgrading the seats. It turns out that your typical retail or builder-supplier-supplier-supplier-supplier-supplier-supplier is The toilet comes with a plastic seat that is barely adequate (flimsy). Do you have any sons at home? You're going to adore the softness of the material. a seat that is close. There will be no slams in the future. I bought one to try out, and I'm already placing an order for another!.
