Questions & Answers
Two full-size pads and two smaller pads (about a third to a quarter of the size of a regular pad). The two larger ones are located at the back of the seat.
The toilet seat is made of a soft plastic that is very comfortable. It is neither as tough nor as flimsy as a wooden one. One was installed in our smaller bathroom at the same time as a wooden one was installed in our larger bathroom. The plastic seat appealed to me more than the wooden one, so it was replaced. Also, unlike the wooden ones, the seat and lid close with a gentle nudge rather than slamming shut.

I'm not sure what you mean by "pads," but my toilet seat came with everything you'll need to attach it to the toilet and get it to work. You'll have to return it, it appears.

When I moved, I had to switch from an elongated to a round toilet. br>br>I've always despised round toilets because many of the toilet seats designed for them are simply too small and designed for women. br>br>However, after doing some research, I discovered that this Kohler had the largest opening size I could find, and it works perfectly! Thanks to this Kohler seat, I was pleasantly surprised to discover that a round toilet could be nearly as comfortable as an elongated toilet. br>br>I couldn't find another seat with such a large opening. I'm curious as to why this seat isn't advertised as such, as I'm sure other people are looking for it as well. br>br>This is the best round toilet seat I've ever seen!.
Four times we attempted to order this item: br>br>The first one had long scuff marks in the finish along the top of the lid, so we returned itbr>br>The second had a line/crack in the toilet seat, so we returned itbr>br>The third had 4 strong indents in the toilet seat due to the 4 molding tabs under the seat that the toilet seat sits on, so we returned itbr>br>The fourth had a line/crack in the toilet seat I rarely write reviews, but I felt compelled to assist in the protection of the next guy.
If you're looking for a bigger hole to squat in, this is the place to go. I was worried that the seat would be too narrow, but it isn't. The toilet seat is perfectly sized to fit a standard round toilet. THE HOLE / OPENING, ON THE OTHER HAND, IS HUGE! br>br>Wow! br>br>I mean, wow! I hopped on all of the toilet seats in the house to make sure my tush fit in/on the toilet seat opening, and yes - it fits. This one gives you the impression that you might fall into it, but you won't. I'm a big guy in the back, but sitting on this throne made me feel a little frail. I'm worried that my frail grandfather will trip and fall inside. br>br>However, anyone looking for a larger opening for their round toilet should consider this option. You've found it!.
For obvious reasons, our house has round toilets rather than toilets with enlongated bowls, which I refer to as "coffee cans. " They annoy me! We purchased this based on another review that stated that the round Kohler model's center hold is almost as large as an elongated seat center hole. This is correct, in my opinion, and this seat is very comfortable. It has four seat-to-rim bumpers instead of two, is durable and easy to clean, and I'm very pleased with it.
Customer service is non-existent. It makes a big difference, as the opening in traditional round toilet seats is too small. About 1" extra lengthwise (back to front) and about 3/4" extra side to side. Assembly is simple and quick. What a fantastic find. The seat is a five-star experience in and of itself. br>br>I had issues putting it together. Each side comes with a bolt, washer, and a plastic piece, but one of the plastic pieces was stripped when it arrived, rendering it completely useless and causing it to fall off/can't stay on. What's even more aggravating is that Amazon customer service refers you to Kohler customer service, which acts as if they have no idea what's going on and is also ineffective. I attempted to request a replacement plastic part for the one that had been stripped, but was unable to do so due to a complete lack of customer service. I was fortunate in that I was able to attach it using parts from an old toilet seat. br>br>To summarize, the toilet seat is excellent and exactly what I needed. Customer service, on the other hand, is a major drawback, as are defective parts.
I felt like I was taking a step back by ordering this because it is entirely made of plastic, whereas I usually prefer wood or acrylic for higher-end models. But this was even better than I had hoped for! It's extremely comfortable and performs as expected. It may, in fact, be more ergonomically designed than its forerunners. It's been a few months since I got it.
This was purchased as a quick fix for a broken Kohler toilet seat. In the description and on the box, it states that it has quick attach hinges. However, none of those features were present when I opened it. It had the type where you had to completely remove two bolts in order to remove it. br>br>Recent changes: br>br> I talked to Kohler about it. The information displayed in the box is incorrect. The terms "quick release" and "fast attach" are not interchangeable.
The seat performs exactly as it is supposed to. The installation photos are on the box, but they are for seats that have the Quick-Set feature. This model does not have the "Quick-Clean" feature that other models do. Attaching the hardware takes the same amount of time as any other toilet seat. Wings made of plastic Nuts must be held underneath while screws are screwed from above, or they will turn with the screws and cause a loose fit. The metal washers' center hole is too big for these screws, so they slide around while tightening.
