Seating on this one is even more solidly constructed than I remember from my previous chair. It is no problem for me to sit on the three seats I have in my home. I weigh 250 pounds. I find the plastic to be quite a bit thicker throughout and the hinges to be more sturdy than my previous seat. This is just a better product. In my opinion, this seat should not pose any problems to you.
