Yeah. I bought two of them last week to give them a try. They were enjoyable to watch. I was debating whether or not to purchase another two. But geez. FOR 4 TOILET SEATS, IT COSTS $180! These last two will have to be reconsidered.
While the fastening system is a little more complex than on other lids, it is extremely secure. It's adjustable, but once you've got it in place and tightened it down, it's not going anywhere. There are no wobbles at all, and this is coming from a 6'2" 370lb guy who can't even shake it loose. This seat was designed to replace a Bemis (which had cracked after only two months of use) and the 'Stay-In' seat. Bemis' 'tite' system was anything but, and it was constantly falling apart. This seat, in comparison, is incredibly stable and well worth the money.
Stainless steel screws and mounting bases with stainless steel posts are included in the seat's packaging. br>br>Installation is simple, but it differs from other toilet seats in a number of ways. The toilet bowl is attached to the mounting bases first, and then the seat is attached to the mounting bases. I'm a senior citizen of 87 years. The quality is excellent, and it is both sleek and sophisticated in appearance as well as extremely comfortable. The instructions for installation are very clear and easy to follow. I was the one who put the seat in place. It took 30 minutes for me to complete the task - Thirty years ago, it would have taken me fifteen minutes. br>I never imagined I'd be writing a love letter to a toilet seat at my age, but if any toilet seat deserves it, it's this one. This is the one I'm talking about.
The hardware for installation is of the highest quality. quality. The setup instructions are straightforward and easy to understand. Although the seat is made of plastic, the construction appears to be sturdy (and I prefer plastic to wood). I like the quick release feature and how you only have to press the button once to release the seat (rather than pushing and holding). I bought this product to replace both of the seats in our house, and I'm so glad I did.
Visit your local Home Depot as soon as possible. You'll save money while getting a better toilet seat. br>br>These seats are thin and light, and they have a cheap and flimsy feel to them. br>br>The underside of the seat has a concave indentation and is hollow. The crevices and cracks on the underside of the seat are a pain to clean if you have children who wee on it. br>br>I don't think the quick-release toilet seat is the best idea I've ever heard of. I've never met anyone who needs a quick release because they frequently remove their toilet seat. Even when fully tightened, the thing is still very wobbly from side to side; when I sit in it, I feel like I'm practicing for the rodeo. br>br>When I first put the seats in place, they would not stay up. The quick release mounts are adjustable, and the only way I could get the seats to stay up was to adjust them all the way forward, which resulted in an inch or more of overhang off the front of the toilet. It appears to be a disaster. It's as if the toilets have buck teeth. They don't always stay open; I have to raise them and count to five Mississippi before releasing them, and they usually stay open. br>br>In conclusion, if I could, I'd give the seats a 0 star rating. The only way I could be dissatisfied would be if they arrived half-broken. I wish I had saved the packaging as well as my old seats. I expect these to break after 6 months. 💩.
PROSbr>It's a perfect fit. br>Easy to clean by pressing the quick release button. br>The quick release button is placed in such a way that it will not be peed on by small boys. br>Both the seat and the cover have a soft closing mechanism. br>If you are patient and don't try to force it to attach, it is fairly simple to install. Before you begin, make sure you have read the directions thoroughly. CONSbr>Not so much a con as an FYI if this is of use to anyone. The pegs will be aligned on the horizontal and facing inward towards each other when you begin the installation. br>Be Careful Not to Overtighten - The ability to swivel freely is required. br>Once the seat's two holes are engaged on the top pegs, gently push down to secure it. br>At this point, make sure the fit is correct. Mine didn't go all the way to the bowl's rim. Too short. br>Swivel both pegs until the seat lines up with the bowl's edges on all sides. Both pegs are now at the same angle, rather than being horizontal. br>Tighten your fingers. br>Remove the seat by pressing the quick release button. br>At this point, place the protective caps on the pegs. Wait until the seat is aligned with the bowl before putting the caps on. br>Attach the seat back to the frame.
At first, everything appeared to be fine. But, after a year of service, I'm going to have to replace this seat. The seat now shifts around alarmingly, and tightening the hardware has no effect; additionally, due to the configuration of the seat and cover molding, it is difficult to clean. I was dissatisfied with what I thought was a high-end product, and I assume that all of the positive feedback came from buyers who hadn't used it for long.
The toilet's front opening is concealed by the lid. After extensive research, a Kohler elongated toilet (K-1) was chosen. 3593). Before purchasing, I had a few questions, and the customer service was fantastic. br>br>The lid covers the toilet opening from front to back and just overhangs the front of the bowl enough to lift it comfortably without touching the toilet bowl. It was difficult to find a lid that fit this requirement (based on published dimensions). The Kohler's fit isn't perfect because it's a little narrower than the bowl in the upper middle (about 3/8" on each side) and then a little wider in the back (see photos). The quick release mechanism is excellent. br>br> The seat lifts up with a single push of a button on the back. Reattaching it is as simple as putting it back on the pins. br>br>The seat is supportive and does not swivel. It still hasn't moved after a month of heavy use (many visitors). I can feel a little flex when I sit my 200 pounds on the top (lid closed), but it holds my weight well.
