It does, however, work very well. There are no issues. It's something I do three times a week after the gym. My 1/2 bathroom on the main floor had a tile-lined steam room. Previously, it had a 15-year-old generator installed. This new generator, in conjunction with the a la carte expensive control unit, produces a large volume of steam at precisely the right temperature and for the right amount of time; however, keep in mind that you'll need another expensive piece to go with it; the device in charge However, I have nothing but praise for these Steamist components in general; (It's been about 6 months so far). I'm hoping it lasts as long as my previous unit, which is no longer in operation. br>br>1- br>br>br>br>br>br>b 2020: I've had the device for a year and a half. My wife and I use it for about 40 minutes a day, about four times a day. 5 times per week is the minimum. It's still working as it should be. Even though the generator is mounted where it can reach 45 degrees F, it only takes about 3 minutes to start producing steam. It also has a function (on the control unit) that allows it to heat up quickly, but this requires it to be on all of the time, which wastes electricity. I also purchased an automatic drain system (which was not inexpensive). As directed, the drain should be mounted at a downward angle. Overall, the components' performance has exceeded my expectations.
I can't say enough about how much I adore this steamer. In my master bathroom, I designed a large custom shower that included a steam unit. I chose the "total sense" package, which includes steam, lights, aroma, and sound. My wife and I have been using it on a daily basis for about a year now, and we are both hooked. Despite the fact that I use my shower as a steam room on occasion (I have a fold-out steamer), down teak benches mounted on the shower wall) To me, the true value and luxury is found in the everyday shower. When you are not directly under the shower head's water flow, you will no longer feel cold. Simply turn off the water and indulge in a warm, steamy paradise. I can't imagine what it's like not to have steam in the shower.
