It is no longer possible for us to use the shower set up we have now we are both getting older, and the length appears to be decreasing. As the diverter grew closer, it became a challenge to reach it. There was no such thing at the local big box stores and I found this to be of immeasurable benefit. I installed it from a short stool and installed it without plumber's tape, which is always nice. The seal is tight, and the length of the extension isn't too long. I would recommend the manufacturer to make this in two sizes, this one and another If I were to buy one as short as I needed, I would only buy one that is 3 inches long.
