According to the video, you should spray WD40 in the female pipe fitting and on the male shower threads (over As part of the demonstration, the channel lock handle was used to get leverage in tightening the shower arm and threading it by hand before using a channel lock to turn it. As I did not have WD40, I used silicon white lithium grease spray, and I ran the water for a few minutes to inspect the connection for leaks with a flashlight before installing the flange. Rather than spraying over the shower arm threads, I only used the spray on the female fittings. Although I had to use some force to tighten it, I would have probably been able to achieve another quarter turn with a bit more force.

The threads seem to be broken
3/5

A problem must be with the thread taper at the end of the showerhead. I was able to get the threads to look and feel fine but the showerhead continued to leak out. A thread at the wall fitting is fine no leaks can be detected. bought a new showerhead and installed it on my old shower arm. After that, it did not I noticed that it leaking when I moved it to this arm. There is no way to stop the leak, whether you use teflon tape (wrapped clockwise) or pipe thread sealant, or a combination A new showerhead was purchased and the same problem persists. After many more attempts, after wrapping 8 squares of gray Mega Tape which is 3 square feet in length, the leak has finally been stopped. Compared to the white thin teflon tape included with the new showerhead, the new tape is 46 times thicker at 5 mm. My next purchase of a Moen shower arm will not be another one.

The shower head is suitable for a single shower
4/5

I would like to point out about this neck that it threads like a plastic shower head's. You may not be able to seal the faucet correctly if you are going to use a valve or another connecting component. In the end, I purchased an American Standard piece due to the standard threading rather than the shaved smooth threading. Although it is a nice piece, if you are using it just for a shower head, I'm sure it will work well for you. However, it doesn't perform well when you are using it with extra parts.

Due to a mysterious leak, the old one had to be replaced
4/5

Despite my belief that a leak behind my shower wall was of unknown origin, before tearing down drywall, I replaced the old trim fixtures first. When the old shower arm (1972) was taken out, moisture inside the shower wall was evident. When you want to save money, it's worth trying to replace these pieces before doing large projects. It will take time to determine whether this was the problem, but worth trying first. This is a standard size shower arm and it works fine. It was installed by my plumber today along with the AT2199 Chrome Shower Arm Flange and the Moen 6300P Shower Head.

The quality control at Moen is poor
3/5

Here is a review I am sending over to Amazon. Both of these shower stems show signs of surface damage - both of them seem to be cracked and chipped in a similar way. It's mostly scratched, brushed nickel seems imperfect, and it has some I don't know what's going on, but Moen needs to raise the quality of their work. There are clearly defects in the image despite the difficulty of capturing them with the camera. Here are some photos I botted from two stems. I'll go ahead and verify if it was the same for the third one.

Plumbing that looks good and is durable
5/5

Among Moen's plumbing components are the durable and attractive faucets and showerheads. As a match for the shower head and flange that I already own, I purchased this shower arm. All you need to install this shower arm is the rubber handle of channel lock pliers and some teflon tape. To remove your shower head, you simply use the fitting on the shower head to remove an adjustable wrench. It can be removed by pulling it off. will need to insert the rubber handle of the channel lock pliers in the old shower arm and turn it slowly counterclockwise until the arm comes loose. Once the old shower arm has been unscrewed by hand, the new one can be attached. You now need to wrap four layers of teflon tape around both the new shower arm and the new shower arm's end cap. Insert the arm into the hole and turn it gently clockwise by hand in order to get it to start moving in the fitting. To tighten and adjust the arm, use the channel lock pliers handle again. However, turn the handle clockwise this time. All you need to do is screw the shower head back on, then set the flange back in place. Shower arms, flanges, and heads are made from durable metal and come in a wide range of colors from Moen.

You should check what you received the day it is delivered to make sure that it is exactly what you ordered
3/5

My order was for a new set of fixtures following bathroom renovations a year ago. All this time, we've left it in the packaging. Now we're ready to install it. When I unwrapped it, I discovered it was chrome despite packaging indicating "Moen 5" This new inch arm is made of brushed nickel. 'Oh no, I should have checked when I got it. ' I am sorry. We are too late to make a return or exchange.
Next on your wishlist is a chrome shower arm. Anyone about to purchase one?.
