Questions & Answers

The arm is 12" square, so does it fit a square shower head without tilting?

There is no tilting needed with a 12" square shower head that I purchased with mine. It is important to unbolt the neck of the shower head first and then screw it onto its base, since otherwise, you will be unable to rotate the shower head to screw it into its base.

This will hold a rectangular 16 inch rainfall shower head that weighs five pounds. What's 6 pounds?

This is a powerful system that can do the job you ask. There is nothing wrong with it it works quite well and is very sturdy. It raises the shower head to a higher position so you can easily take a shower!

Are you using Chrome for it?

You can expect to see the Chrome shower arm in stock in the near future. I appreciate your time and efforts

Is it possible to install a shower head on this arm that will fit up to its diameter without hitting the "up" portion?

There was no impact on the 9 inch. There is no indication of how much more there is

You can achieve fantastic results when you install it correctly
5/5

An extension was needed to provide extra height for the shower. There are many options for shower arms that are supposed to provide additional height, but there is a lot more to it than that. The arm provides the height and also the ability to angle the head so that it's almost directly downward. In many cases, other shower arms do offer an extension, but the angle they provide is angled backwards. It may not be viable if you only have a stall shower. My installation of this arm did not lead to any leaks either. The installation of the arm broke many people's arms according to the reviews. An improper installation technique might have resulted in this problem. In order to tighten the arm itself, you cannot simply wrap tape around the wall threads. Elastic will snap off if you do that. On the wall end of each thread is a notch specifically designed for accessing the An open end wrench or a crescent wrench can be used for tightening. Installing this only in this manner is the right way to go. The angle of the arm is not straight up and down when the arm is tight for some people. This can be fixed by wrapping Teflon tape around the threads at least five or six times (on both ends). By doing so, you will ensure that there is enough space (or twist) for the arm to be aligned and tight when it is straight up and down (again, using the wrench provided in the notch). Remove the tape if it does not line up. If it does not line up you should loosen the arm (with a wrench), clean off the old tape, and apply When threading the wall end into the fitting in the wall, be careful not to damage it. Be sure you aren't crossing threads as you go slow. In the event that you experience hard resistance, you may have to back off and try again. Using the wrench to tighten is all that is necessary after you have started the threads by hand.
In total, I have been very satisfied with this product. During a test, it was able to prove height, full water pressure to the head, and an outstanding level of brushed finish uniformity. In addition to the O ring securing the trim to the pipe, it comes with a nice rubber gasket.

Before you buy, here are some things you should know
3/5

There is a possibility that you won't be able to install this if the hole through the tile is just big enough to accommodate your existing pipe. I am attempting to replace a shower arm that is 20 in length. Approximately 5mm thick. The base nearest the threads that slides through the hole in the wall can be seen in the pictures as being a bit larger--24mm is what my digital caliper indicated. The third point is There may not be much difference, but I had zero flexibility to begin the threads when there was a 5mm difference each way. I spent about an hour trying to get this thing to screw in, and in the process I scratched it. It's a good idea to pull back the cap before you buy and check if there is enough space between the shower arm and the wall It needs a tile to be in there.

Adding Height And A Better Angle For The Shower Head Is The Perfect Solution
5/5

Make sure you are careful when installing! The following sentences describe this situation A shower arm in the form of a triangle The tall frame adds a good deal of height and places the shower head at an angle that is more downward than the conventional 45-degree angle The arms on most showers are angled at 90 degrees. tall man, I appreciate being able to stand under the shower head for full coverage (for the first time ever. also loves the "rainfall" effect! It is worth mentioning two points. **1) The finish is not a true "oil rubbed bronze", but rather a glossy reddish bronze The color is a brown bronze, but it looks fine once installed and most people would never realize 1) The "S" tube is thin and easily bent, so it must be tightened only using the flat areas at the base of the arm, and not overtightened, as the threads are just brass inserts inside copper tubes. In spite of the fact that the arm looks great once installed, I had no problem installing it in our renovated shower, where the existing screws were recessed quite a bit As a matter of fact, it went on much easier than the original arm! Here are a few tips for installing Pro Add a couple of turns of Teflon (also known as steel wire You should apply a layer of "pipe dope" (a joint sealant specially made for metal fittings) over the threads and overtop it with a piece of tape. My preferred brand of rectoseal is the "Tru Blu") and I hand tighten it to ensure a hassle-free installation The system is free and leak-free It's a free seal every time! All in all, we couldn't be happier with this product, especially for the price!.

There are a number of pipes joined together by screws
3/5

It has a really nice escutcheon to match as well, making it a great looking shower arm. The pivoting shower head elevates the head above the shower head and moves it away from the wall. This allows you to avoid interfering with a hanging shower caddy or rack or to create a less curved Although I wish I'd been aware the arm is made up of several pieces of pipe clamped together, I'm thankful it fits my hands. In the corners, there is a fatter section that is separate from the wall. A male connector is mounted to one end of the arm, and there is a screw at the other end. The male coupler has a half-sticking thread so that it can screw into the wall and then into the female coupler at the other end. After removing the arm (I determined to use pipe joint compound on the threads rather than teflon tape) only to discover that the little coupler was stuck in the wall, I decided to replace it. Short enough that the screw was deeper than the surrounding sheetrock, so it was impossible to grip it and unscrew it without damaging it. It is true that the interior of the coupler is hexagonal. After more than a year of measuring and trying, I have finally discovered that it is 12mm in diameter. Sadly, most standard hex wrench sets are only good for up to 10mm, and there were no larger sizes available at any of the big hardware stores in my area. It took me hours to remove the coupler from the wall so I had to buy a 12mm hex wrench from Amazon. I admit that I am having trouble installing this arm, but the fact it is made up of multiple pieces means that it is prone to multiple points of failure (leaks) than a single-piece arm would That's not the case with this piece of arm. In many ways, there are very similar single-storey homes There were piece shower arms available, and I finally selected an arm from that range. As I was playing with this arm, I was amazed at the fancy-looking plastic ring that was embedded into it There is no way to use it with the SimpleHuman shower caddy. When the fatter part is attached to the arm, it prevents the hanger from closing properly. Although this didn't make any difference to my decision or star rating, it may matter to people using SimpleHuman caddies. Please look over the information below and let me know if you find it useful.
