The shower head in our home has a Culligan filter. You probably know how heavy they can be if you have one. The sulfur taste is removed from our rusty well water though, which really makes a difference for us. Because of this, we decided to buy another one despite the holder breaking on the first one. It meant, of course, that we had to buy a whole new shower head, since there was no other mount at the time. As a result, we weren't all that surprised when the mount cracked again five years later. There must be some kind of plastic inside it. I have no idea what material it is made of. Although, when searching for a new one, I wondered why all the ones I found were constructed of plastic. In the same way that the original two failed, it wasn't surprising that these would fail as well. To make a long story short, I was optimistic when I found a metal alternative. I just had a qualm about The shower head arm would it fit snugly in the holder? When we took a shower, I didn't want to have to rig up something to hold the showerhead while we were in the shower. When I cleaned, I also wanted to get control of the shower head without having to handle it.
