Questions & Answers

The material of the device appears to be brass or stainless steel? Does it rust? If so, how do you prevent it?

A stainless steel material is used in their construction. Our bronze finish has been in place now for a couple of years, and there have been no rust issues. It is my hope that this helped!

Do the threads have ips, which are straight threads, or do they have npt, which are tapered threads? It is not possible to interchange them. What type of gasket is required to seal an IP?

In each case, IPS threads are used.

The material of the device appears to be brass or stainless steel? Does it rust? If so, how do you prevent it?

Stainless steel is used to make this shower arm. I am pleased that you are interested! Thank you!

Does the length of the pipe seem to be the same on either side of the bend, or does it seem that one side goes on ?

The shorter side is longer than the longer side by only a few inches. The estimate for 4 is not particularly accurate. The size of the paper is 5" x 3". It is 5". For getting your shower head a little further away from the wall, this is a good idea.

The shower arm in this picture is pretty good It is not uncommon for substandard brands to leak water into walls and cause thread failure
5/5

Prior to this purchase, I bought two of these from other sellers (this one matched the description, arrived on time, and worked). A leak inside the wall occurred as a result of the threads being cut incorrectly on the first shower arm I bought (from American Standard). In order to eliminate the possibility that the shower arm might be defective, I bought a second shower arm (distributed by Danco) because the location of the leak was not visible. There was no way I could have received two bad shower arms from two different manufacturers. Is that correct? In addition to thread sealant, I also applied generous amounts of plumber's tape to both of these pipes. I got a second leak! The second arm too! Since I figured that bad threads on these things couldn't be so common, I ended up ripping out the built-in cabinets, the drywall, and the 2x6 supporting the flanged elbow into which the shower arm screws. In addition to tearing out a pipe and NPT threaded joint from the valve assembly, I needed to use Pex. Adding up all the drywall, paint, time, plumbing fittings, and so forth, the cost easily crossed the hundred dollar mark. I was beyond frustrated when I finally discovered the leak on the old shower arms through the torn out wall and could see all new plumbing running through it! It is advisable to use words that contain more than four My cost for this arm through LDR was just a few dollars higher than the ones that came with the Danco and American Standard. It would have been lovely to have avoided the bother and expense of repairing my closet and running plumbing supply lines if I had known I would be saving myself those few hundred dollars and a couple of days of work. And, what's worse, it seems that bad NPT threads on shower arms are a common occurrence. For the love of GOD, please! Choose a reputable company if you wish to purchase. I also want to thank LDR for his kind words. Your product is wonderful! I am extremely happy with it!.

It is a good thing when it takes longer than standard
5/5

With this 8" size arm we replaced all of our 3 shower arms. By installing a new shower head and hose, the metal hose will not get stuck inside the shower tiles as it now extends out and away from the wall a few inches farther. The new multi-function device is able to Your older 6" shower arm might not be able to give the added spray pattern in a rain shower type head with hose attachment and spray pattern, with a spray from the rain shower head. If you want a rain shower effect, you won't have to hug the wall to get it. Our chrome handles and spray heads are a perfect match. The installation took less than a minute. Tape or plumber compound should be used and installation should only be For the arm to be in its correct position, a wrench might only be needed to make the last inch or two. A first installation was bought, followed by two additional purchases. Please take caution I tried to remove the old pipe but it was too tight and had oversat for 29 years, so I broke it off in the wall pipe. I tried making a simple hacksaw cut on the broken part and it worked, but I had to be gentle and square to pull the In case you are unsure how to remove and replace, you can watch a youtube video for instructions.

It was NOT made of stainless steel, and it was not a leak-proof piece The free market
3/5

This should have been a leak-proof story of My life, but it was just not meant to be The free market. It was ordered because it had an extra length to replace an older shower head arm that had failed threads (the end thread corroded and broke off, so it no longer sealed against the shower head). The new arm leaks when the arm is perfectly aligned (hand tight). After torqueing it a second time, it became loose again This would go 3/4 of the way, but not the full My wrench could not get that extra 1/4 turn, so I used it in direct contact with the lever to try and do that. Now that the surface has been scraped - Under the scraped chrome, I found a copper colored metal. The fittings would not tighten properly with my Delta shower because they are not stainless steel. As I can't return it due to damage, it is destined for the garbage. I will place it in the blue bin Next week, we will open a box store.

This is stainless steel that is copper in color
3/5

It is incorrect to describe stainless steel construction as stainless steel. Chrome is a coating applied to copper. My mistake. I bought it believing it was stainless steel. It looks good and works well, but I thought it was plastic. There is no such thing.

With plumbers tape (I had some, but description says it is included), it installs quickly and easily
5/5

On the back of the package, "Vetta," and Jackson Industries, China, are written in small letters. This appears to be a sturdy piece. A well-cut thread runs through the whole piece. Unlike what others said, but contrary to the description, plumbers tape is not included, although I did have As a result of the old one leaching at the wall, I had to purchase this one. (The caulk looked like it was used by the installer, which may explain why. ) I found it very easy to install, threaded smoothly, and best of all, there were no leaks. Starting at the tip of the pipe that will thread into the wall, wrap plumbers tape clockwise starting at one end (leave one or two threads bare that you can start with). I'm a microbiologist so I'm sure of what I'm doing. Just add one more layer and it should be fine. In this case, ')'.

A cheap price
3/5

As advertised, it does not come with teflon tape. As I tightened it, I ended up peeling off the chrome finish as vinyl tape surrounded it to protect the finish. Copper is the metal that was exposed when the chrome came off. The color red. My old one was thrown away and I bought a new.

It is of good I found this shower arm to be very well made
5/5

There are several you can buy, but this one is a little longer, so it was good for me when I had to work with a 6-inch flange There is an additional inch thickness to the wall, so it is slightly deeper than the standard My chrome plating seems to be solid, and I have not experienced any problems with it.

I am so glad my husband decided to check Amazon Prime for it. There are some things which don't work perfectly or make a good impression. You get an incredibly good deal for your.
