Selected User Reviews For SharkBite U280LFA Ball Valve 1/2 Inch with Drop Ear, Push-to-Connect, PEX, Copper, CPVC
This is a genuine Sharkbite product, and I wanted (and highly recommend) the drain hole because I'm using it as a hose bib spigot shutoff for my outdoor hose bib. The ability to open the drain hole cap allows water to drain completely from the spigot. I enjoy working with Sharkbite, and the additional cost is well worth it.
I had a bad ball valve in the crawlspace, and this beats sweating the pipe in such a tight spot. Plus, I didn't have to drain and dry the system completely because it has a drain and a drop ear, allowing me to hang it up.
There is a drain, so the spigot can be turned off for the winter.
It's nice not to have to put in a separate light fixture for that.
It takes only ten minutes to install the new valve in a crawl space service line.
In a matter of minutes, I had two of these up and running. br>All you have to do is turn off the water, drain the line, cut out the correct length of pipe, clean it, and insert it completely on both ends. Turn on the water and let the air out by opening the valve.
Installing is a breeze.
