I had the same issue and what I did was to remove what I had put on and try a body putty that dried white then recover with this product. The only thing I could see is that you would have to make the swatch a little thicker to prevent color bleeding through.

I was very satisfied with the product. Resin was something I had worked with before, and I knew it would stick to anything. I used thick, clear 3M packing tape to prevent this, and I hope that others can use it to get a clean finish on their Here are the three purposes to which I applied the tape. 1) Color matching I used the clear tape to apply the resin to the tub to see how close it was to the color match. It is not enough to apply a tiny amount of color to a toothpick head. It will be too dark regardless of the amount of color applied. Make a larger batch for actual repairs following the creation of the larger batch. Once you get that color, mix little amounts of the 1st batch into the second until it is the right shade. Verify the color by placing it on the clear tape on the tub. If you want the color to match, add a little more. 2) Prior to mixing the color, make sure you tape off the area you are repairing with clear packing tape, then sand that area with 220grit (the 100grit included in the kit seemed too coarse). The hole should now have new tape around it. Use tape to seal the yellow spreader in the kit so you can re-use it if necessary. You can apply the patch now. You may want to smooth it with out leaving low spots and let it dry for 24 hours. ** * * 3) Sand with 220 while the tape is on, but not too much. Removing the tape will reveal more packing tape to apply and sanding to You should replace the tape every few months. My reasoning for avoiding damage to our tub finish in the areas that do not require repair was to avoid damaging the finish of the tub. that seems flat, we moved up the tape to 500 grit then 1000 grit then 1200 grit. Once we had those three done, we removed the tape and were ready to polish and wax the car. However, the color was not perfect because the materials are different, but I am very satisfied with the result. I hope this helps you all get a sturdy and neat repair from the resin. You should also buy/obtain extra stirring sticks to mix the resin well. At Harbor Freight, I purchased a $2 wet sandpaper kit. There were 220, 500, 1000, and 1200 grit sandpapers in it for a cheap price of $1. 99.
For perfect color matching, you only need the barest trace of color gel on your skin. The first batch was too heavy, so I made 3 batches before I got the right consistency. Having to make three batches of epoxy was not a problem since I had plenty of epoxy on hand. Each spoon was placed with the same amount of garlic, and I mixed it together with a disposable spoon. Once I had the spoons thrown away, I was happy. A plastic knife was used to mix it on a paper plate. It was difficult to capture a picture where you could even tell I had repaired it. It is a pleasure to use such a fine.
For a very long time I had this 1950's sink in storage, not entirely sure what to do with The patching was done in more than a few spots with a biscuit-colored While I covered a few of these, I left the majority alone as they were perfectly fine.
My main goal was to fix the sink in such a way that we could continue to use it for many years to come without having to replace it. Only two of the faucet holes were rotten out and the larger one had almost doubled in size since it was originally installed. I considered using Bondo at first. Yet, when I saw this product, I figured I would give it a try. This is a fairly thick product Natural peanut butter is what you think of. The application is a little challenging at the beginning, as it is very sticky. I found I had the best results about 20 minutes after mixing, as the mixture was less runny and more dough-like.
Should I try filling a bigger Adding a second layer of filler, sanding and sanding again is a wise decision. All of the rust around the faucet hole is covered up well with this, and only a tiny bit of it is visible. As far as I'm concerned, the faucet will cover that anyway. The fabric is not transparent, in contrast to what other reviewers have said. *)* *** * It's a good product, but the kit items that come with it are a lot of junk. 2) Sand paper is cheap as well. I don't think it lasted more than a couple There are a few items you will need to purchase to go along **Popsicle sticks**Soft scrub or bar keepers friend**Toothpicks**Plastic cups
Gloves**Sand paper in 80,100,120,and 200 grit (you can use any grit you'd like. Lim, soap scum, and rust remover)
Face mask (to sand)
Mixing 2) I used 2 tsp of each part A and It is not allowed to reuse the same spatula in different parts, or you will squander the whole kit without being able to reuse it. Make sure the mixture is well blended. A dot of black and a dot of brown were added to the surface of the cup on either side of the mixture, and just a tiny bit of it was added to the colors. Add the oil and stir Then you will be able to add a little bit of this color mixture to the epoxy mixture to attain the shade you desire. When you add layers of color slowly and keep checking as you go, it is relatively easy to get the exact color you want. All the work was sanded well with a good hand sander. Despite my maskless appearance, I didn't wear one. It would be great if you could. There is nothing pleasant about breathing this stuff. The outcome of the exercise has left me extremely satisfied. I bought this sink for $65 so I spent about $100 with this kit and supplies for the total cost of a fixed sink. Despite having a lot of product, I still have time to work on Tips on writing There is a thin layer of this that is a little see-through. You can add this after drying the chip fix appliance paint on dark spots to fix spots that need just a thin layer. If the color underneath is dark, I suggest using this chip fix appliance paint on the dark spots. A layer of sand is placed between the layers to ensure While I did not have to do this, if you are concerned, you may want to go ahead and take that.
My 30-year-old tub suffered many small damages and I used the tub and tile repair kit to restore them Aged 1 yr and older My tub/shower insert is made of resin in a white color, but has somewhat discolored with age and usage. As far as the color is concerned, I did not focus on it and used the product directly from the container. In essence, it's an opaque white two-part polymer If desired, highly concentrated dyes can be used to match the color of the epoxy. It took me only a few minutes to use it after following instructions carefully. With the popsicle stick included in the kit, I applied the mixed product and wiped it off. I then waited for it to dry before using it This review is about 2 weeks after the repair was completed. The deepest damage required two applications, which I did about 10 hours apart. I flattened the surfaces as much as possible while they were wet, then sanded after 24 hours. Despite being barely noticeable, the patches held up for quite some time, didn't pop out, and are not noticeable They did a fantastic job at my home because it was a test run for repairing a brand new porcelain tub that was chipped by a careless tile contractor at our investment property. In order to replace that tub, I would have to destroy a $4000 project. But this $20 product should do the trick. My neighbor almost used a $20 liquid product from home depot, and that one was a liquid. It was a little bit worrying since the liquid was on a roll and I couldn't see it. Since it is 10X more sized than the smaller product from Home Depot, it is useful for several projects, and it does not need to be mixed at once, as it does with the smaller product at Home Depot. I am very satisfied thus far.
