It is an engineered lightweight material that can easily chip. I almost felt like the shipping box was empty because the box is so light. Despite the product having been hollowed out on the back, there only appeared to be a 3/4 inch lip with it. In my opinion, this would make attaching it to the wall difficult and not secure. Even if I had considered buying it if a back view had been included in the advertisement.

I got a swanstone vanity of the same color as this one. There's no problem matching the item to the vanity if you have one, so don't worry about that. The swanstone side splashes I bought on Amazon I ordered twice, and Home Depot I purchased twice, and I am in the process of ordering my fifth one. The factory warps them before sending them out. After molding, their cooling process warps the item, and sometimes twists it as well. There will be a gap between the wall and the cabinetry. On both ends, it's usually left with a significant gap. As a result of multiple returns, the home depot rep I am working with said Swanstone told her that this is normal and that the customer should sand it to fit, making sure it is flush with the surface. I would be willing to take the risk of ruining the item I bought, but then I would have to live with that decision. In the meantime, however, they refuse to make repairs or inspect their item so that they would avoid having to do so. My understanding is that the product is about a quarter inch too long for the vanity, and I would trim it to fit, but it won't fix the warped edges. In simple terms, it does not sit flush, and Swanstone does not care about that, so this is a normal situation. We are really happy with the vanity we got, but we wanted to add the side splash to it as well. As long as they don't fix their customer service and this product in particular, I would avoid it like the plague.
