The answers to these two questions are as follows In order to avoid heavy bending of the board you should 1) check that the board is thick enough to support the weight of anything you want to put on it 2) check that the board is attractive. Choosing the right thickness on the board for your project should be based on what you want to accomplish with it The smaller the things are, the thinner the board is, and the larger things are, the thicker the board is. The board was 5 inches thick because it was in my garage and was what I had.
Small screws, with a diameter of 16mm or about 5/8 ", are used to secure the shelf or bracket to the bracket.

Although they bend fairly easily, they are not particularly heavy duty in the sense in which I would define "heavy duty". These brackets acknowledge that it's difficult to cantilever a shelf without a diagonal support, and they do not alter this fact. Only a few pounds weigh them down sufficiently, so they sag happily. To be honest, I don't dislike it much.

The shelves are holding heavy jars and other food products without bending at all. I have some of these supports in my pantry shelving that don't even have any bend. All you need to do is space them closer together for heavier shelves. They differ in several ways that make them distinct from one another. There is no paint on them. The finish is dark, almost black, without a gloss, and it doesn't scratch away easily, and it's easy to maintain, and it's rustic looking but uniform. In the past, I have used others with sloppy paint that was easy to remove. Moreover, the screw holes are already countersunk so you get a nice flush finish when you install the included screws. In speaking of screws, there are top-quality ones Ideally, we would also like to find some in smaller sizes as well, since 8 inches is quite a bit. The rest of the product is great.

We needed brackets to organize our closet for games and they worked perfectly. Because the brackets are sturdy enough to not need a 45 degree support arm, that's a plus for me. It is also appreciated that the mounting screw holes are countersunk, and the flathead screws adhere to the bracket flush. (As usual, I received an extra screw to replace the dropped screw if it is dropped. matched the brackets and were painted black.
