I say yes! Anchors should be used only when plaster is present and not when drywall is present. We have them installed on thick, heavy shelves and they are not in studs. We did not work with the spacing of the studs, as it is always best to use a stud.
The diameter is 3 5/8 inches
When the brackets are connected properly to the studs in the wall, they can hold up to The brackets I recommend for a long wall would be three. These brackets were used for heavy reclaimed wood and they performed well.
There are 3 holes and screws in the bracket, so I guess you could use that.

This is a 5 out of 5! Instead of purchasing the more reviewed product, I purchased this less reviewed product. Another customer complained that they had to trim and slot the 2x12s to fit the brackets, and the brackets They fit my 2x12 with a bit of room to spare (which is what It was everything I hoped it would be. One bracket isn't a true 90 degree and is therefore under bent. But that is the only reason I can't give them a 5 star review. I do not intend to return these, but if I get a replacement, I will definitely go back to a 5 star rating. It also feels pretty sturdy. The magnetic level they included is not It's a bonus point for you. Edit
My seller reached out to me and sent me a replacement on their own! It was an excellent product and the customer service was excellent! I changed my review to a five star rating!.
A sturdy product. What the hell does a 1 1/4" lip have to do with it? It is good to know you. Having found 5/4 to be flush is only half of my challenge. I have to plane it down further. Besides being a professional, I am also a mother. A 2x12 is not what I want to use. If they were going to give the dimensions for the massive lip, I would appreciate it. Since I can't use exotic wood in these cabinetry, it is somewhat of a hindrance.
I found this product very durable and ideal for my project, but the description stated that it fits an average Home Depot shelf that is 12 inches wide, but I didn't find this item to be suitable. In order to make the shelves fit, we had to remove about 1/2 inch from the back. Getting that done required me to run around to get the needed saw, so I had to run around many times to get it done- It was so much work, but it was The shelves and hardware are awesome, and I love how sturdy they are! We used our own screws, anchors, and level since it did not come with them.
In general, they are durable enough to hold up an 80-pound computer, provided you secure them properly (i. e. It would be better if they weren't screwed directly to the wall). For some reason, the brackets come with a small leveling tool, which I found to be very useful because I did not have one already.
Each item was carefully packaged and neatly presented. Since they are so thick, the brackets are very strong and could probably hold the weight of a full grown man without bending. Installing the device is also very simple as the design allows it to be easily adapted. Our installation went very smoothly without any issues cracking the tiles, or other unforeseen issues. It was a fantastic.
Although I do not like the look of them, they are fine. Instead of brackets, I'd prefer normal ones.
A friend of mine and I bought an old home in Kentucky and rebuilt the kitchen. The brackets stood up to the rebuild of the kitchen and I would buy them again.
HD has sold me some before, but they were nothing like these. Good quality at a great.
