It is for holding up two butcher block shelves that we are using the shelf brackets. The excess from the countertop in our guest house was used to make these I've had no problems with it so far. The signs have been up and in use for more than a month and are beautiful.

The 6 brackets were flush mounted into the wall and were used as support for a ready-built shelf A TV stand that was too low was too much of a hassle to assemble. Their intended purpose isn't mounting shelves, so I didn't buy them for that purpose. Instead, I bought them so I could build a concrete counter top with them as additional support. These are used to add extra support to the overhang since the bar is the one that supports the majority of the weight of the counter top. Those seem like they will work well for that purpose. The cables did bend a bit once they were mounted vertically, but not too Their use as shelf mounts seems ideal to me.

This product is about half the price at the big box chain stores such as It is a hefty, solid, quality piece of furniture. A 1/2 inch thick shelf came with properly sized screws for attaching the shelf to the wall as well as for attaching the back of the shelf. The screws are aligned perfectly in the screw holes, resulting in a solid, stable attachment. The pieces were used to hold mountain biking gear on a melamine shelf in the garage. Everything seems to be going well.

I ordered the brackets for the 10 inch shelves because I was planning on 12 inch shelves. He decided he wanted 10 inch shelves, so they were too long for him. It's okay to look at them because they're well-made, but be aware that 5mm is roughly equivalent to 3/16" in thickness. It is absolutely critical that I use 1/4" to support the shelves I am building without hanging brackets on each By bending flat bar stock, drilling holes, and cutting it, you can make these for a fraction of the price, which is exactly what I did.
