Questions & Answers
It is the small diameter of the button that fits into the hole if the plug is a button or mushroom style plug. The mushroom/button style goes all the way to the top of the hole. 3/8" is the hole size you'll need to drill.
It should be between 1/4" and 5/16" in diameter. To control the depth, sand a small amount off the plug if necessary.
Odiak is a brand I've never heard of before, but they fit 3/8" holes regardless of who drilled them.
3/16 of an inch From American Woodcrafters Supply, I got better (longer) ones.

br>NOT ONE OF THESE BUTTONS WOULD STAY IN THE HOLE THAT THEY WERE DESIGNED TO FILL. br>Their sizing is horribly off. br>Because my husband is a mechanical engineer, I ordered the correct size. I went to Lowe's and purchased Madison Mill wood buttons. I used four "Made in the USA" buttons, and they all fit perfectly!.
Sorry, but a 3/8" wood plug should fit perfectly into a hole drilled by a 3/8" drill bit, without manual hole widening, nearly every time. About 10 of these actually fit for I have to widen the hole in the vast majority of cases by tilting the drill bit, which is a clumsy process. Use a Dremel bit if you don't want to use a drill bit. If you value your time, the time it takes to install these $3 plugs will cost you 10 times as much. Manufacturing tolerances are too close together.
Free wood glue should be included in this package. A lot of them aren't 3/8 sized correctly. Neither is it square, nor is it round. For the undersized ones, plenty of wood glue and a wood glue box cutter to reshape oval bottoms to fit round drill holes They'll put in the effort for you, and you get what you pay for.
These small wooden buttons are used in a variety of woodworking projects by my husband. From the 1890s, he constructs banks that resemble trains, as well as houses and shops. The buttons can be turned into wheel hubs, post ornaments, train headlights, and whatever else he can think of; if you don't have that much imagination, you can cover a screw head on a piece of furniture with them.
These are fantastic to have on hand; they'll come in handy for a variety of projects. The price-to-quality ratio is unrivaled. With just a dab of Elmer's glue or whatever, they stay in place perfectly. They are simple to paint, requiring only one coat.
This hasn't let me down yet. It's reasonably priced and tucks into your rug like a bug. br>Excellent, just what I needed to get a walnut pen to go with the matching pencil.
I haven't stained them yet, but despite the stark contrast in the photo, these items blend in nicely with the golden oak finish on this scrap piece of wood.
These were required to replace the seat cushions in a wooden decorative outdoor chair. They worked perfectly; just make sure you get the right size. I had no idea you could get a rounded or flat top, which wasn't a big deal for me because I didn't need one. All will be replaced at some point in the future. a good purchase I have a lot more than I think I'll ever require!.
