Questions & Answers

According to the advertisement, "OOK 55316 13-OOK 55316 13-OOK 55316 13-OOK Do they mean "13 inches" when they say "piece"?

The number 13 refers to the total number of pieces in the puzzle. OOK 55316 has a length of approximately 20 inches. Depending on who is advertising this product, some claim it is 20 inches and others claim it is 20. Some say it's nine inches, while others claim it's twenty-one. The sellers, in my opinion, should invest in a ruler.

What is the length of the screws used in the art piece?

1" and 3/8" coarse thread screws are available in two lengths. They were long enough to go through 1/2" sheetrock and sturdy enough to support a massive teak door that serves as a headboard.

Is it simple to remove and replace the picture? My boss likes to take the picture down to show others every now and then. ?

It's very simple to remove the image from the site. But putting it back up is even easier! When using a wire, you must fight to get it back on that tiny hook. The Hangman, on the other hand, requires only that you place it over the cleat's area and it will guide itself in! And if it's not perfectly centered, there's plenty of room to adjust it; it's a fantastic product, and I have no affiliation with the company that makes it.

The description is deceiving
3/5

I needed something to hang a 40-pound fossil slab, and this appeared to be the perfect fit. I need it to be long enough to distribute the load over the majority of the slab, but the length isn't specified in the top description, so I went down to "Product information" and found "Product dimensions" listed as 0. 5 x 3. The dimensions are 2 x 21 inches. Perfect in some ways, but not in others. When the cleaat arrived, I discovered it was 18" instead of 21" - The size of the package is 21" (as shown in the photo). I'm not an engineer, so I can't really judge the material's quality or thickness, but since the product description was misleading in terms of length, I can only assume the weight rating is the same, so I'm returning this cleat and looking for something that will do the job.

A headboard can be hung on the wall very easily
5/5

This item was purchased to mount a headboard that I had constructed. To match my king-size bed, I made a headboard out of plywood and some inexpensive whitewood. I decided that mounting it directly to the wall, rather than to the bed, would be more stable. This french cleat appeared to be the best method after some research. The headboard is a good size and weight (48" tall by 81" wide), so it won't fall over. Only a very small gap (around 3/8") existed between the headboard and the wall after it was installed. I'm very happy with this purchase and would recommend it to anyone looking for a headboard that can be mounted on the wall.

Excellent holding power and ease of installation
5/5

I bought this to hang a headboard that my son had built himself. It has a 200-pound holding capacity, and even though the headboard only weighed 60 pounds, I wanted the metal strip to be mounted in at least two wall studs to prevent it from being pulled down by accident. Because this cleat is 20 inches long, it was able to easily bridge the gap. And, because the headboard was about 5 feet long, I didn't want it to be visible. If one end of the saw was accidentally pulled down, it would need to be sawed. It has performed admirably so far. br>br>It was a breeze to install. It also comes with a small bubble level that fits into a channel on the wall bracket's side. It's also easier to level because there's one less tool to deal with while measuring and marking for screws. Because I already had drywall anchors and screws on hand, I didn't use the included drywall anchor screws. br>br>Now that I've seen these, I like the idea of using french cleats for larger/heavier items that need to be wall mounted. Small hooks bending or wires loosening, resulting in your favorite oversized picture or mirror breaking into many pieces on the floor, are no longer a concern. Because the brackets are so thin, the item is nearly flush against the wall. Try them out, and I'm sure you'll enjoy them as much as I did.

Congratulations on your accomplishment! I used this to hang a large canvas painting, and I probably didn't need the 200lb rated bracket and could have saved a few dollars by using the 100lb rated bracket instead
5/5

$11 was the price I paid. 70 dollars plus sales tax in your area. In a large box, the item arrived well protected. Before you use your screwdriver to install the bracket, drill small "pilot holes. " Ensure that both brackets are level as well. Don't rush the job and don't try to save money. I hope this has been of assistance.

It appears to be in good shape
4/5

This item was purchased so that I could hang a 39-pound wood sound diffuser. 2 pounds. That's not quite the 200 pounds this product claims to support, but it's a substantial weight for a wall hanging, and I didn't want to take any chances. br>br>The "wall dog" screws included in this set are clearly intended for use in drywall. For added strength, I tried driving one into each end of the studs, but the threads are so large that it was difficult, and I ended up stripping the heads. So I nailed the two outermost holes and used the supplied screws in the remaining holes. (I used all of the screws because there were more holes than screws. ) ) There is a level on the wall side, which is helpful, but you're on your own to get the other piece level on the back of your art (which, of course, should be easier than on the wall because you can measure from the top edge of the artwork. ) )br>br>I'd say so far it's holding up well. I'm not sure I'd put my trust in this hardware to support 200 pounds. For that kind of weight, it appears as though they should have a better way of connecting into the studs. However, because that weight is distributed over six wall dog screws, it's not out of line with what other wall anchors claim to be capable of handling on a per-screw basis. I wouldn't take any of these products to their stated limits, but it's up to you whether you want to live on the edge.

Cleats de France are fantastic
5/5

With the wall dog screws, a couple of companies are now producing these. They perform admirably. br>A word of warning, though. I love those wall dog screws, but if the drywall ever gets wet, they won't hold 10 lbs. They claim you don't need to hit a stud, but I wouldn't hang a 200-pound mirror without hitting studs. Mirrors weighing 200 pounds are costly and, more importantly, dangerous if they fall off a wall.

It's been a long time since things were so simple
5/5

I hung a couple of 3-foot banners with two of these. In my garage, I have a shelf bookcase mounted on the wall. I was able to lift each bookcase despite all of the'stuff' in them. As a result, I was able to determine that it was well under the 200-pound weight limit. They came with a small level, which made leveling the cleat for drilling the holes a breeze. To mount each of the wall-mounted shelves, I used four 1/4" x 2 1/4" Tapcons. Concrete block with side cleats. I attached the other half to the bookcase with the included screws. I used coarse threaded screws and drilled pilot holes in the bookcase to prevent the wood from splitting. Now that (almost) everything has been removed from the shelves, I've decided to get rid of half of the stuff that was previously on them. So I guess I got rid of some junk as an added benefit of doing this. It's never a bad idea.
