"173 to 1" for "The Brinks" The 50051 80mm Discus Lock has a 3/4" wide shackle and a 1/2" clearance height between the shackle and the lock body.
Although I have never used pliers to defeat my lock, I can imagine that if a large pipe wrench were used to get a good grip on the lock and if a cheater bar was added to the pipe wrench, sufficient twisting force could be generated to defeat it. It is true for the majority of locks as well. What ifs are questions that I ask myself often. Then what would happen if there was a Sputnik that crashed into There are no major problems with this Definitely not the best for the price, but good nonetheless. Despite its disc design, it prohibits the use of bolt cutters most of the time, and the combination prevents the government from entering illegally, at least until they beat me to it. If I had to buy it again, I would.
As it is on my storage locker at the moment, I cannot measure it for you. However, the description states it is 80mm, which is 3 inches. I am assuming 14 inches is the right size. It can only be a typo when those other dimensions are listed. I found this lock to be a good fit for storage locker hardware and it fits perfect.

The only thing needed to unlatch this lock is It doesn't matter which combination is used The coin turns a small dial on the back, all four dials are turned to 0, and all four dials are turned to zero. It is outrageous and disgusting A factory reset could not occur while the lock was LOCKED because there is no safety mechanism to thwart this. The return period has passed. I can no longer return these and get replacements before I move. The only thing I hope is that no one is going to open my Pod if they are not familiar with.
I like the way that they look, and they are Getting into my utility trailer was made easier by the lock I bought for it. I could still access it even if I had no keys. didn't have any trouble opening the shackle or turning the dial like several other reviewers did, but I can open the lock in about two minutes without knowing what the combination is. After I had my wife set the combination twice, I was able to get it open within about 2 minutes. This flaw is also present in an older master lock with a 4-dial combination. As soon as a slight pressure is applied to the shackle, the tumblers begin to rotate, and when the first number is wrong, the second row rotates freely. Once the first number is correct, the second row does not rotate freely anymore. Once these numbers are calculated, the second and third numbers will be determined. There will be 10 choices for the tenth and last number and the lock will be established. Brinks' lack of a better security measure for their locks has disappointed me. As for the lock, I figure it will only keep honest people and opportunistic thieves out. Several years ago, a thief cut the hasp for the bar lock with a pair of bolt cutters and got in regardless of the lock still installed.
These locks were used outside from the start, so they were hard to open almost immediately. The mechanism that opens the lock became so difficult to turn that my wife was unable to open it after a couple weeks. After lubing them with lock ease, I still had no luck. Returning them was my act of good will. This product is a waste of money.
I have given out the combination of these locks to authorized people to lock the common gates. It's such a fussy dial, and if you are not precise, you might have trouble. I don't mean that you need To do this, the dial has to be lining up to the bazillionth of an and giggle at it and if it feels like it - the more it will do. Upon opening, you will be able to see it. That takes too much time from me. In the past, I have had to play with the lock to allow access to authorized people. It is not a lock you should buy if you value your time. If you spend too much time trying to open it, it won't be worth the effort.
The lock was used on the exterior door of a Tack Shed. The lock began to seize after two weeks of being outside. The numbers weren't turning in the lock to open it. The door has rusted/been seized. In a manufacturer's advertisement, this lock should say that it should only be used inside, such as inside a Buying this lock if you plan to use them outdoors is a waste of money. They won't.
Please see below for the latest update My container box built by Shanghai Baoshan Pacific uses this locking device to keep contents safe. The main issue I had with the shackle opening was that it was too small to accommodate the locking handles. As you can see from the picture, it does. Bolt cutters will not be able to cut through this lock. I like its feel and feel of the body but does not feel as tough as locks that cost more. A large hammer beating attack with it would surely ruin it if it lasted for long. As I said in my previous review, I was concerned about how long this lock would hold up when struck by a hammer. Additionally, I have wondered about some of the other methods of defeating this lock, such as holding the shackle or reprogramming while locked, etc. First of all, I was not able to reproduce the results listed by other reviewers for Are you saying that's due to a new I have no idea. My main reason for updating this review is that a brute force attack can be used to defeat the During the early morning hours of 9/8/2020, a forest fire in California burned out my property. Although the lock was in place, there were signs of serious heat damage on the locking bars of the container. It was found that the thumb wheels were melted out and that there was only slag left behind My container box is filled with people who wish to get into it. In the case of the large hammer, it did not open. Taking the rock bar from my burned out garden shed, I ran home. I blasted at it dozens of times, making sure I struck the pointy end of the bar very well, but it didn't work. Throughout the chain, a catch hook was found along the length. Accessed the chain by hooking it to the lock and to the I tried the lever pull and there was no response. An unistrut 10' stick was added to the lever to increase its length. Bend the unistrut just a little bit. A fire crew was finally called in. Their bolt cutters were with them when they arrived. After a quick glance at the container box, they cut off the swivel locking hasp they had attached. Is that right? There is still a lock hanging on the door. During the course of the story, the following moral stands out If you do not have hardened steel hardware holding your lock, it makes no difference what kind of lock you have.
I like the way the product works and looks This product can sometimes be a little stiff to rotate. * I remember seeing a review in which it said you can open any file That's not true, it comes factory set to 0000, but if you set up with your four numbers you can only unlock it with those four numbers.
After following the instructions, I was not able to accomplish what I wanted. The product was returned to the manufacturer.
